During our ‘DisneyCaliFam’ vacation we spent a few hours at Huntington Beach on Monday January 16th. Some of our Cali family met up with the 10 of us at Fred’s Cantina on Main street for a bite to eat before we braved the high winds on the pier and at the seashore. Two of my sisters and seven nieces and nephews joined our ten for a lively few hours. The Swordfish tacos were delicious!
This guy saves me a seat next to him 90% of the time.
Happy Birthday churros for these two who share their birthday.
Off to the pier with Main Street behind us and Fred’s Cantina on the corner upper floor on the right.
Leaving the pier and heading to the sand and shoreline. That is another photo intensive post that will be coming soon.
We had a very nice scenic ride from St. Ives back to Porthtowan along the coastal cliffs. We stopped along the way to peek over the cliffs to the sea.
It was very windy and I tried to capture how the wind was whipping the grass and bending it over.
Did I mention it was windy?
Later when we finally reached Porthtowan we had a little something to stave off our dehydration and then we took a nice hike along the cliffs.
I am happy to announce that my little sewing projects are now completed. I even managed to dig out my MIL’s old sewing box and use some of her bias tape (she had about 50 packages from Penny’s for 6 cents each) to do a couple extra projects. Oh I’m looking forward to showing you all the fun things we have going for our time here on Sunday. I hope when I finally show and tell it’s not anti-climactic.
My disappearing Gnomes. Very soon they will be quite visible again as our snow is slowly melting.
My Sounders Soccer Gnome gets special treatment and he has a spot indoors till Spring when Soccer season starts up again.
I’m also considering some little travels for this special guy…
Well I think I’ve had my limit of staying home because of snow. I’m a little stir crazy. We are having some very gusty winds today and that always makes me wonder if we’ll keep our power. If you don’t see me around or hear from me you can conclude that we are in the dark. Hope the lights are shining bright where you are. There’s always the source of light who never loses power and I hope to let His light shine in my heart!
After all the fires that burned so many hillsides in Southern California a rain event here can trigger mudslides and flash floods without much warning. The rain here in the Camarillo area has been coupled with heavy winds so eucalyptus debris is just flying through the air. The air smells of eucalyptus which is a nice change from other smells we can get because of the extensive farming in this area. Weather advisories are streaming across the television.
Looks pretty scary! Hopefully the predictions won’t come through…
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007 to 2015 hostage and has replaced them all with ugly black and grey boxes asking for a ransom to have them re-published. Such a frustrating bother as I go through each post to delete the ugly boxes.
