When it Rains it Pours…

After all the fires that burned so many hillsides in Southern California a rain event here can trigger mudslides and flash floods without much warning. The rain here in the Camarillo area has been coupled with heavy winds so eucalyptus debris is just flying through the air. The air smells of eucalyptus which is a nice change from other smells we can get because of the extensive farming in this area. Weather advisories are streaming across the television.

Looks pretty scary! Hopefully the predictions won’t come through…

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Bless your heart, I hope that all is well for you there. I love the smell of Eucalyptus and someday when I make it back home to Cali will grab gobs to bring back with me as I am now in Colorado. Thank you for visiting my blog today and for thinking enough of me to leave a comment. Have a week filled with love, Cherie

  2. Fifth Street Extension and Ridgeview were both closed so I got to take TWO detours on the way home tonight. I assume we won’t be walking tomorrow–you might not be able to get over to my place.

  3. That looks and sounds like the storm we had rip through here this morning. More expected for the next several days. Good thing we replaced fences after the big storm two years ago this month…Hang on tight!

  4. Hello Ellen, thank you so much for your sweet comment about my uncle. He was so loved by our whole family. the rain looks so severe. We do have mudslides here too. Sometimes causing tragic events. I hope the weather is better soon.

I LOVE little Avery in her cute hair bow. Just the most darling post. My great niece in named Avery. She is a cutie too and a bit older. Your photos show the wonderful time you had.

    Hugs, Jeanne

  5. Wonderful photos as always. I’ve tried to capture some views to share too. I’m hoping there won’t be mudslides in the burn areas either. It’s rained pretty steadily (but not heavily) since Sunday afternoon where I live … but today we had a torrential downpour complete with thunder (though I saw no lightning). A neighbor told me a waterspout touched down near the playground of the school where she works and the vacationing Midwesterner next door swears there was hail but I experienced neither. Fortunately we’ve had periodic breaks so Molly and I could get outside for some exercise but it’s WINDY and there’s debris everywhere.
    Hugs and blessings,
