We’re in Hot Water!

So how timely is it that we are on the letter W for Monday April 27th!

We have not had our heat going a lot the last few days which aided our discovery of a noise that was confusing. We heard the noise in one of our guest rooms that is also the grands play room.

We have determined that it is a hot water pipe leak somewhere in the vicinity below this room.

We have a couple call outs to local plumbers and hope to get this glitch addressed soon. I will be calling our insurance company to see about our coverage for this problem. One of the options in addressing this is to go through this floor to pump out the water and repair the leak. If that’s the case it will be great to get rid of this carpet and put some new flooring in this room. Our entire crawl space has a bladder between the floor and the crawl space and that’s where the water has been accumulating. It’s ready to burst! Yikes! We will know more once we get a plumber out to assess what needs to be done. In the meantime here are more water photos from our favorite walks along the beach, Emma Woods in Ventura, California from 2008-2010. The waves of Emma Wood.

God is in control of the waves of the sea and all the waves in our lives, too. If you don’t believe that I pray that God will reveal himself and his power and sovereignty to you so that you can believe.

Happy Monday to y’all. I’ll let you know what the plumber reveals. Makes us thankful for social distancing since hot water and showers are at a premium right now to keep the leak under control.

Ebb and Flow

All of these photos were taken on a Saturday morning walk at Huntington Beach, California on January 24th. One of my sisters lives a few blocks from this beach. It was great to walk along the beach and out to the end of the pier with my sister and sister in law this nice windy morning. Not to shabby to walk and talk with scenes like these…

Ebb and Flow:

1: the alternate ebb and flood of the tide
2: a condition or rhythm of alternate forward and backward movement or of alternate decline and renewed advance

Since we’re on E for ABC Wednesday I decided to call this Ebb and Flow. Thank you Denise Nesbitt and the ABC Team!

Beach Fences…

I was in Southern California last week. My sister lives a few blocks from Huntington Beach. On our way back to her house from our walk on the promenade I captured these shots of some waves through the fence while we waited for the light to change so we could cross PCH. (Pacific Coast Highway)

I’m not a fan of sitting on the beach but I do enjoy walking along the shore.

Winter is my favorite time to enjoy California Beaches.

I’m linking up to Good Fences #45 with TexWisGirl at Run*A*Round Ranch.

It’s great to travel but I think I picked up a bug on the airplane and I’m a little under the weather. I hope it stays at the “little” stage and doesn’t go into anything full blown. How are you feeling?

Lord, Whom Winds and Waves Obey ~ Hymn

Lord, Whom Winds and Waves Obey

Lord, whom winds and waves obey,
Guide us through the watery way;
In the hollow of Thy hand
Hide, and bring us safe to land.

Jesus, let our faithful mind
Rest, on Thee alone reclined;
Every anxious thought repress,
Keep our souls in perfect peace.

Keep the souls whom now we leave,
Bid them to each other cleave;
Bid them walk on life’s rough sea;
Bid them come by faith to Thee.

Save, till all these tempests end,
All who on Thy love depend;
Waft our happy spirits o’er;
Land us on the heavenly shore.

Words: Charles Wesley, 1782.

Round Robin Challenge ~ Water!

Our challenge for January 30th is water. Just so happens I took about 200 or so photos of the wild California surf after our recent storms. I am narrowing it down to one photo.

If you like wild surf click here to see more of my wild waves!

Visit the Round Robin Photo Challenge Blog to see other entries. This is a twice a month challenge that I’ve enjoyed participating in. You might like to join in, also. We’ll hear what the new challenge is on Sunday or Monday for next time…

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

WFW ~ Psalm 93:3-4

Psalm 93:3-4 (NASB)

The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice,
The floods lift up their pounding waves.
More than the sounds of many waters,
Than the mighty breakers of the sea,
The Lord on high is mighty.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve participated in Three or More Tuesday but these furry and feathered creatures inspired me to join in this week. Tam at the Gypsy’s Corner is the hostess of this weekly event.

We spotted the dogs and the seagulls while we were watching the huge storm waves that pounded our Southern Beaches this past week. These photos were taken in Ventura, California at Surfer’s Point on Saturday.

Mosaic Monday ~ Stormy Surf…

Time to check in with Mary at the Little Red House to see mosaics from around Bloggy World.

After breakfast on Saturday we drove to Ventura to check out the powerful surf. Because of the storms that have pushed through Southern California we have been seeing rough seas pounding the shore and piers. Several piers have been shut down to pedestrians because of the chance of damage. It was an amazing to see these waves up close. I’ll be posting more photos over the coming week.

Aren’t digital cameras great! I was just thinking about how we used to have to load a roll of film after every 24/36 photos and we never knew if the photos were good till after we had the film processed! I am so thankful for digital photography!!
