ABC’s of the Word ~ W

You rule over the surging sea;
when its waves mount up, you still them. Psalm 89:9 (NIV)

Jesus Calms the Storm

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”

26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.

27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

I pulled this out of my archives for W today because my brain is on overload and it needs a little rest before I can come up with anything new. We had a glorious celebration and reunion yesterday at Sophie Wozniuk’s funeral and I’ll post more about it when my brain revives. Blessings on all of you.

WFW ~ Matthew 5: 43-45

Love Your Enemies

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

ABC’s of the Word ~ Rust…

And here’s another great passage with lots of R’s.

Philippians 4:4-7 (English Standard Version)

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. 5Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

ABC’s of the Word ~ Mustard Seed

The kingdom of heaven is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his field. It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it has grown it is larger than all the garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches. Matthew 13:31-32 (ESV)

WFW ~ Matthew 28: 18-20

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me, Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

ABC’s of the Word ~ The Winds and the Waves…

This weekend we experienced the power of the winds and the waves. The power of both were amazing. The truth that God created both and has the power to subdue them is amazing…

WFW ~ Matthew 2:9-12

Matthew 2: 9-12 ~ …and the star, which they had seen in the east, went on before them until it came and stood over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy. After coming into the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell to the ground and worshipped Him. Then, opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

ABC’s of the Word ~ Quickly

Matthew 28: 5-8 ~ The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. Now I have told you. So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell the disciples.
