Welcome Fall…
…looking forward to what you have in store for us. In the meantime here are some favorites from the end of summer and the very beginning of Fall.

Our hydrangeas are waning nicely with their colors fading in a pretty way.
Colors are changing on our plants and the leaves are changing and falling.
Our neighbor Pat died this summer and a couple weekends ago there was an estate sale in her home. I ended up buying her drop leaf tea trolley to remember her by. I waited till the last day of the sale when everything was half off to make my purchases. We found a spot for it and we have plans to make a few changes to it. It cost me $20.

Thankful for Autumn and all it brings like new colors to enjoy, comfort food, cooler weather, cozy fires, and new adventures.

Summer Ends in Seattle…
We had an errand in West Seattle and on our way we enjoyed this view of the Space Needle.
On the way back from West Seattle we traveled on the viaduct and had views we don’t usually have when we head to Seattle. We thought we’d have lunch downtown but the parking proved to be impossible and there was more traffic than usual because of an afternoon baseball game.
I’m sure some of you recognize this logo.
The skies were so beautiful on this last day of summer over the skyline of Seattle.
We stopped outside of the downtown area at a Mexican Restaurant we’ve wanted to eat at for a while with simple and free parking. We are happy to have this beautiful and vibrant downtown to enjoy when we are in the mood and happy to be able to escape the hubbub of Seattle to our northeast burb in quieter environs. We enjoy a little of the city and a little of the country while living in between!
Fallish Signs…
Putting up a few things for fall inside this old house and outside there are plenty of “signs” of Fall, too.
Autumn/Fall is upon us. This is a season I welcome with open arms and a nice cozy sweatshirt, not to mention a very busy rake!

Young at Heart…
So this happened this past Saturday. My 93 year old pop got his turn to hit the pinata at his great granddaughter’s 7th birthday party! I’m glad they didn’t blindfold him! He was really tuckered out after the long drive and all the fun of this day.

Kenmore City Mural
This mural was just unveiled and celebrated on Labor Day in the city of Kenmore, Washington.
It is painted on the side of the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store.
Kenmore is located on the Top of Lake Washington in Washington State.
You see the blue heron on the bottom left photo in this mosaic? Very close to St. Vincent de Paul at the rear area of the Kenmore Park and Ride there is a nesting area of Blue Herons. The nests high up in the trees are something extraordinary to see. You can see more on my post here. All the dark patches in the trees are Blue Heron nests on this next photo.
We’ve enjoyed many of the services these local businesses offer during our years living close to and in Kenmore. Ostrom’s pharmacy, Kenmore Lanes (for birthday parties), Kenmore Camera, Tai Ho (great lunch specials) and others. All three of our kids graduated high school from Inglemoor. We’ve also found great bargains from St. Vincent de Paul thrift store over the years and donated many things there. Some of the images are historical and not current.
It was nice to see the business and community effort that made this mural happen. I’m glad for once I have the signatures of the mural artists.

InSPIREd Sunday…
Steeples and bell towers from the road in Spokane, Puyallup and a message in Colville Washington.

I think this is the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Spokane taken from Providence Sacred Heart Hospital. I plan to take an up close and personal view of this cathedral in the future.
For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.

I saw this verse on the side of a building in Colville, Washington.
We are having a nice visit with my cousin and friend from college who married my cousin. The weather has changed here with wind and rain and lots of leaves falling.
We took a selfie. We are eating well with an egg scramble for breakfast, cucumber salsa, and pulled pork sandwiches with beans and coleslaw for dinner and a shrimp cocktail chaser that my cousin Jim served up. Oh and there’s a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie for dessert.
Tomorrow Jim and Jeanie head to Canada and a ferry ride to Vancouver Island. We are inspiring them by watching the survival show “Alone” that was filmed on Vancouver Island. Have you watched that show?
