In Just 27 Days…

…Dear and I have to be out of our home and hand over the keys to a new owner. We received an offer on Monday July 2nd while we were in Eastern Washington. We had some back and forth and received the news on the highway on July 3rd as we drove home that our counter offer was accepted and signed and we were in contract on our home. We praise the Lord that we are finally on to the next stage of our move.

Now we have 27 days to pack up everything minus the 5 days we will be in California for my Pop’s funeral.

Our minds are racing and we are scheduling more containers to be dropped at our home to fill. On the 4th of July, Katie and Andrew came over to help us empty out the attic and start sorting through all that stuff that has been out of sight and out of our minds for years. My car again is full of stuff we were able to say “Let it go” to.

Today our real estate agent is arriving to de-stage our home. Katie will be back to continue our attic box discoveries.

Thank you so much for all of you who have prayed for the sale of our home. Now we need those prayers again for a home to purchase in Northeastern Washington. We will be returning on Friday to Dan, Jamie and Addy’s.

On Saturday we have an appointment to view several homes that are on the market. Hopefully we’ll find one to make an offer on. Remember those 27 days we have minus the 5 days in California? Now we will have to minus out Friday-Sunday as we travel back to Colville to search for our new home. So we have 19 days to pack er up and get outa here. Yikes!

Blogging will be effected for sure. You might not be hearing much from me for a while. I’ll try to pop in here and there. Once we are settled in our new home I’ll be blogging from a very different environment. We are hoping our new home is in an area with good connectivity. But until then…

My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone
Along a path that’s winding always upward
This troubled world is not my final home

But until then my heart will go on singing
Until then with joy I’ll carry on
Until the day my eyes behold my Saviour
Until the day God calls me home

  1. The hurry up and wait part is over now! Time to hustle!!!!!! Good luck with your house hunting, and congratulations on the final sale of your previous home. Time to carve out new memories!

  2. Wonderful news! Trusting along with you that all will work out, for your move, and your search for a new home.

My dear father sings “But until then … ” beautifully, so seeing your mention, here, warms my heart. A trial here is but a stepping stone.

  3. First things first—Praise the Lord!

How well I understand the excitement and the panic… Sometimes they get together and do a little dance. It’s kind of fun…butterflies in the tummy all over the place. ; > The Lord will be with you and will help you get everything accomplished. Praise God, too, for the wonderful helpers you have.

So little time, so much to do, I’ll not keep you reading. Just know that my prayers continue for you and your family…to accomplish what needs doing at your current home, to honor your precious dad well, to find a wonderful new home in the eastern part of the state, to stay happy and well knowing that God is with you. He’s been at work all along.

  4. Thanks be to God! You have a lot to accomplish in little time, but you’ll make it! Box by box, little by little, one day at a time.
I hope your time in California for your dear dad’s funeral is a blessed one, full of family memories and lots of love.

  5. I’m so pleased for your good news. I’m sure you’ll do it with family and friends to help. Good luck with the house hunting. Hope you find the perfect home. I’ll be thinking of you. B x

  6. Congrats on the sale of your home! I wish you luck in your home search too. I am sure packing a home for moving is not fun. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!

  7. Packing up, deciding what to take, finding a new home…it will all be a bit hectic, but the prayers of your friends and family will hold you up through it all. We last did it 6 years ago moving from one country to another, and I know how busy that kept us. Thinking of your new journey.

  8. OH Ellen, please accept my sincere condolences on Pop’s passing. Yes, it’s a Homegoing but it’s still bittersweet. Daddy will be 90 in September, about 95% healthy but, like any of us, could be called away at a moment’s notice. I am glad you didn’t have to wait years (like I did!) and pray for you all the best as you navigate these new journey. God has a plan for our good and His glory; bless His name forever!

  9. Oh my… Yay! Praise God.. Whew.. All in God’s timing.. Congratulations.. More hard work ahead of you. May strength and peace be with you as you travel here and there..

  10. Oh that is great news. Really happy for you.
No luck here with our house sale. Still only one person has been to look.

  11. Yippee! I love answered prayers! Praise the Lord! Yes, 27 days minus this and that … but as you say so well at the end of your post … with the end in mind, all is possible. Trust me and God, we have recently been there and it all works out. OK, on to the next prayer – can’t wait to see the house He has in mind for you! (And take your time getting back to blogging – I get it!)

  12. I was waiting for this news! Yes, the next month will be wild and crazy, but when God has shown you the new house He has provided for you, you will know all is well.
Praying too for your trip to your pop’s memorial service.
    Love and hugs.

  13. Oh Ellen – this is fantastic! I am so excited for you …. and wishing I could be there to help you pack. You have prepared well for this and now it has finally happened. I will definitely keep you all in my prayers as you search for your new home and also as you pause to put your dear Pop to rest in the midst of it all. God is Good! I look forward to your updates – however scarce they may be. Huge hugs.

  14. It’s obvious I’ve been away from your blog too long — your new digs look terrific, your new scenery (that deer!) looks glorious, and wonderful wonderful news that your home has sold. I’m so sorry to be missing your visit to California and your father’s service, but you know my prayers are with you.

  15. Well that is very exciting yet very nerve wracking. Hope Saturday goes well for you. I will be praying for you!!!

  16. I’m amazed you are still blogging in this busy period of your lives. But (unlike me, who is in a blogging rut) at least that gives you some record of this time. I’m so happy for you that you sold the house and hope and pray you will find something new to call home again. I just popped in here to see how you were doing and am happy you are finally moving. All the best!

  17. So happy for you Ellen — I’m catching up and promise not to comment on every one of your posts, since i am quite sure you are way to busy to even read them — but had to say something on this one. Thankful for Feedly that lets me catch up when I get behind on visits.
