Pink Saturday ~ Shopping and Walking

Today for Pink Saturday I’m sharing some photos from my walks in Camarillo, California and a great Home Decor Store that is housed in a old Farmhouse in Bothell, Washington. Have a great September Saturday everyone.

This is an interesting Bougainvillea that has been trained into a bush. We usually see these more spread out growing on fences and sides of homes or patios.

A Porch in Old Town Camarillo.

This was the Pink Room in the Cranberry Cottage on Bothell-Everett Highway in Bothell. Across the street from Country Village. They sell a combination of antique, collectibles, and new goodies.

5 More Days in Washington

My six weeks in Washington State are winding down. I’m here for 5 more days and then Dear and I hit the long road home to Southern California. My hydrangeas in Washington have reached their full bloom. My hydrangea plant in California is dead by now because Dear forgot to ask our neighbors to water our plants while we’ve been gone. Oops!

One thing that keeps us awake and makes the trip seem shorter from here to there are books on CD. I was so excited to find this at Goodwill and look forward to listening to hours of one of our all time favorites…

This week we’ll be getting in some last minute visits with friends and family here in the Seattle area. Maybe I’ll fit in one more trip to Goodwill. I hope all of you have a great week.

Awards and Stuff

Before this week gets away from me I wanted to acknowledge simultaneous awards I received from two Bloggy friends.

Thank you Willow and Thank you Scrabble Queen

Thank you very much for this kind acknowledgement. I appreciate it. I’ve met Willow and we’ve become walking buddies in California. I told Scrabble Queen that it would be so wonderful to have a bloggy tea party so we could meet. Blessings on you both.

I’m going to share my bouquet of flowers that I bought at the Kirkland Farmer’s Market Yesterday for you all to enjoy.

Before I headed to the Farmer’s Market yesterday I managed to get a lot of steps in walking around Juanita Bay again. It was a cloudy day compared to last time I did the walk. Since I only had 4491 steps at the end of the day on Tuesday I was determined to do better on Wednesday. When I finally layed my head on the pillow I had walked 12,895 steps! Whoohoo! Here are a couple photos from my walk.

Have a wonderful day. I’m trying to get motivated to get out and walk again…

A Lily Bouquet from Jan ~

My dear friend Jan grows several beautiful varieties of lilies and she brought me a bouquet at our walk last week.

Aren’t they just gorgeous. She has a green thumb and loves her lilies. I think they know she does.

So beautiful and so fragrant.

Anybody else see what I see on the wall behind this fresh bouquet of lilies?

Thank you Jan! I’ve really enjoyed my bouquet…

WFW ~ The Lily ~ Matthew 6: 28-34

He’s the lily of the valley, the bright and morning star

He’s the fairest of ten thousand to my soul.

Matthew 6:28-34

“And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Soloman in all his glory clothed himself like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Have a worry free day my friends…

Bellevue Botanical Gardens

While I’m in the Seattle area for a spell, Katie and I are doing some tourist projects on her days off. We’re going out to enjoy God’s creation around us here in the Puget Sound Area. On Tuesday we took a trip to Bellevue to stroll through the Botanical Gardens. There were so many beautiful things to see. The garden is free with free parking, too. It’s located on Main Street between 120th Ave. NE and 124th Ave. NE.

So lush, so green, this is one of the benefits of our climate in the Northwest.

Makes you think that Faeries might be living here.

The different shades of green were wonderful. The sun was shining without a cloud in the sky so the light made for some great contrast with shadow.

Many of the Spring blooms have faded but there were plenty of summer blooms for us to enjoy. I’d love to come back here in the Spring.

Golden shades of yellow ~

Some more exotic looking blooms and ferns.

The Fuchsias were blooming.

Lovely shades of purple.

Don’t you just love all the pink flowers God created for us to enjoy. Hydrangeas are just coming out in their glory. And now for the prettiest blossom in the garden…

Our sweet daughter Katie. Today she had a crooked smile because she had just had some dental work done and half her mouth was numb. Beautiful never-the-less.

Ruby Tuesday

A favorite author of mine is George MacDonald and this is one of his stories that I really loved. It just happens to be Ruby bound so I’m sharing it.

And I saw these pretty little Ruby Flowers (Sweet Williams, thanks Lovella) at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens today and I’m throwing them into the Ruby post, too!
