My Last Pink Saturday…

I am so sad to say that this will have to be my last Pink Saturday. Saturday is a very hard day for me to find time to blog. Dear and I leave the house before dawn to have our weekly walk at the beach and we never know what adventure we’ll decide on after our walk. I always feel so guilty about not getting around to all the lovely pink that day and it just makes better sense for me to forfeit this pleasure. I want to thank Beverly, who I think is a fantastic hostess, for putting this together and for being so gracious. I’ll miss my Pink friends but I’ll probably see some of you at other memes Monday thru Friday. Blessings on all of you.

So here is my Pink for my farewell to Pink Saturday Post!

I’m so excited! I think I can now be inducted into the bloggy hall of fame because I have a glass dome that I put stuff under!! I’m going to go ahead and call it a Cloche. We  just purchased it at an antique shop in Arroyo Grande on January 18th. I’ve been on the hunt for a cloche and I still might end up buying a taller, narrower one…once I hear from the “Official Bloggy We’ll Induct You Into Our Hall of Fame Committee”. The glass cake plate it’s sitting on was from Target originally but I bought it at Goodwill.

Now look at all this sweet pinkness that my bloggy friend Cori G! gifted to me when we met face to face this last Tuesday. I was blown away by all these goodies. She made all those cards, bookmarks and tags herself. She’s a great designer! The four pretty Homer Laughlin plates are from a set of 8 she has. How generous of her to split the set for me. She participates in Pink Saturday from her Gingerbread Crumbs & Co.Blog.

This last one is for Beverly. I wish I could deliver a bouquet of these sweet pink flowers to your door for being such a kind hostess.

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage unless I pay them a lot of money. I’m slowly cleaning up many posts from this time period and deleting their ugly grey and black boxes with a ransom request. Such a time consuming bother.

Pink Saturday ~ Tease Revealed…

These are some items I bought at a local thrift store and I said I’d show you what they had originally been intended for.

The pretty cloth and the jewels are a shower curtain and shower curtain hooks. I don’t have a shower curtain rod in the bathroom at the condo so I had to try to get the hooks to hold up the curtain on the frame of the glass shower doors so I could show you their intended use. Now here is what I decided to use this shower curtain and jeweled hooks for…

Pink Saturday ~

Welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

One of the blessings of living in Southern California is that roses are still blooming in the winter. I took this photo on one of my walks with Willow in Southern California in January.

This next collage is a tease. I bought some thrift store items this week that I’m going to use for a completely different purpose than they were intended for. I will show you in the future what that purpose was and how I used them. Dear and I are off for an overnight getaway to Pismo Beach, California tomorrow and I hope to find some pink to post for next week and a “show and tell” on what I do with these purchases. Have a wonderful Pink Saturday everyone.

Pink Saturday ~ L.A. Zoo

Welcome to another round of Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

The week before Christmas I met my brother, SIL, young niece, older niece, and grand nephew at the Los Angeles Zoo. Our very first stop was to have a look at the Pink Flamingos. Leonard and Mandy were giving me a hard time and as soon as we spotted the Pink Flamingos they said “Oh perfect for Pink Saturday”. After this stop we were off to see the other animals in the Zoo. My full Zoo post will be for ABC Wednesday next week since we are on Z. Yep they had to kid me about that one, too.

This is my brother Leonard with his daughter Hope who turns 1 this month and me and my grandnephew Jackson who just turned 4 in November. He’s holding the map and helping us navigate. Mandy, Hope’s mother and Michelle, Jackson’s mom were ahead of us and Michelle took this photo.

Pink Saturday ~ January 3rd!

Welcome to the first Pink Saturday of 2009. Time to start getting used to writing 2009. So to all you Pinks Happy 2009 to you!

In my thrifting ventures I found this pink creamer and 3 pink doilies.

I’m a real sucker for Creamers and this one will go nicely with a sugar bowl I bought a while back…

Pink Saturday ~ Vernon Ware

Welcome to my Pink Saturday. I’m at a family Christmas cooking day today and hope to get around to all the lovely Pink tomorrow! Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.

Look at what I found at Goodwill this week. This is Vernon Ware Pottery, a California Pottery. The Pattern is from their Native American Collection. I love the pink and the details. All these pieces (10 in total) cost me $.69 cents for each piece. $6.90 total. How could I walk away from that bargain???

Pink Saturday ~ Travels

It’s time for Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound! I’ve been travelling since Thanksgiving and am finally back home at the little condo in Southern California. The first collage are shots of pink I saw in San Francisco.

Nieman Marcus had all their little trees decorated with pink and white. When we were in the Ferry Terminal a little pastry bakery had this cute little white tree with some pink on it, too. The pink plastic bag is on the back of one of the Trolley cars I was travelling on.

When I got back home I headed over to the Camarillo Ranch House to see it all decked out for Christmas. I’ll post a full tour of this great Historic Victorian Home in my town that the family that the city is named after owned. Each bed had a quilt made by different quilters for the Christmas season. So different and beautiful. I’m just showing the pink ones. There are a few more beds in this great house with other fabulous handmade quilts on them.

Pink Saturday ~ Pink & Black Tablescape

This is a little preview of my Pink and Black Tablescape that I put together while home in Washington State. I’m travelling from Washington to San Francisco today to meet up with my husband who is attending a conference there. Today happens to be our 34th Wedding Anniversary and we will be celebrating later at a restaurant in San Francisco. On Tuesday we will both fly back to our Southern California home. I hope to get around later this weekend to see all your pretty pink. Have a wonderful Pink Saturday everyone!

Pink Saturday ~ Pink Poinsettias

Okay! I know I’m jumping the gun because Thanksgiving in the U.S.A. has not happened yet but I was stuck for pink this week and decided to show you these wonderful pink poinsettias. I took these photos at Molbaks Nursery in Woodinville, Washington. It’s a nursery that is a great destination any time of the year. At Christmas they have a huge variety of poinsettias and sections and sections of Christmas ornaments and decorations. A lot of people come to Molbaks to take their family Christmas photo.

Pink Saturday ~ My Babushka Vera

This is my Maternal Grandmother at my sister Vera’s wedding in 1969. She looks so sweet in pink! I really loved my grandmother. She only had one hand. One of her arms was amputated from her elbow down when she was young. She immigrated to the U.S.A. alone without my grandfather who was murdered in Iran in the late 40’s. She did more with her one hand than a lot of people do with two. Her embroidery was amazing. My Babushka Vera died in March of 1980. She was a Godly woman who prayed for all her grandchildren and for all her grandchildren’s future spouses. I am so looking forward to seeing her in heaven.

This is a tablecloth and napkins my babushka embroidered for us for a wedding gift. In keeping with the Pink Saturday theme here’s another tablecloth I have that she embroidered.
