Emma Wood Beach in November

PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR PINK SATURDAY…

Dear and I headed up to Emma Wood State Beach early Saturday morning. It’s been several weeks since we’ve done our favorite walk and it was great to be back…

It was High Tide so we had very few steps directly on the sand.

The Fall/Winter birds were back in town. We saw lots of Godwits and Sanderlings. We saw so many Pelicans but they were all far from my camera and moving in formation across the water…

Tablescape Tuesday ~ Pewter

Time for another Tablescape Tuesday. You can visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch to see more.

My camera angles and lighting made my tablecloth look like two different ones. The color is more true to the first collage. This table was inspired by the Rooster I got at Target clearance last week for $4.95. The twig pumpkin was clearanced for $1.95. I bought the napkins that are originally from Pier 1 at a thrift store this last week for $1.25 for 4 of them. The Pewter flatware and bowls are from Goodwill. The pear napkin rings are from Goodwill and the basket weave chargers are from Goodwill, too. The plates were from Marshalls. It’s a lot of fun to put a table together with thrift store treasures that I’ve accumulated over time…

Indescribable ~ Worship Song

Indescribable

From the highest of heights
To the depths of the sea
Creation’s revealing your majesty
From the colors of Fall
To the fragrance of Spring
Every creature unique
And the song that it sings
All exclaiming-

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And you know them by name
You are amazing, God
All powerful, untameable
Awestruck, we fall to our knees
As we humbly proclaim
You are amazing, God

Who has told every lightening bolt
Where it should go?
Or seen heavenly storehouses
Laden with snow?
Who imagined the sun
And gives source to the light?
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom-

Indescribable, uncontainable
You placed the stars in the sky
And you know them by name
You are amazing, God
Incomparable, unchangeable
You see the depths of my heart
And you love me the same
You are amazing, God

Pumpkin Patch with Jack

On Tuesday I met my niece Michelle and my Grand Nephew Jackson at the Underwood Family Farms Pumpkin Patch! It was a hot sunny day in Moorpark, California and in all of Southern California.

We had a tractor ride around the farm and then we were dropped off at the patch where we each got to choose a pumpkin of our own to take home. The farm really caters to “youngins”. There were several pre-schools visiting this day. Animals, pony rides, play equiptment, a corn maze were just a few of the things to keep the kids busy. Jack fed the animals carrots (he wanted to start with the cow). There were goats, emus, llamas, ducks, donkeys, horses, and a pig.  Jack drove his own little motorized tractor.

They have built this great climbing apparatus for the Mountain Goats.

The Sunflowers were still blooming although many seemed to be at the end of their glory.

A fun day at the farm and thank goodness for sunblock!

Update on Wednesday: Our Santana winds are back today with a fury. We are dry and hot and a section of Camarillo where I grocery shop is without power. I was just going into the Von’s to buy a few groceries when the power went out so I came home instead hoping the power doesn’t go out here! I am really looking forward to some cooler fall weather but until then it’s sandals and t-shirts still in Southern California.

ABC Wednesday ~ N is for Nest

N is for Nest

I saw this perfectly built nest that had long been abandoned in late September. I was really impressed with the construction. I had to zoom in and get a closer look. I was happy to remember this for my N post! Have a good week everyone!

Today’s Flowers #11

This photo was taken at the Columbia Winery in the State of Washington in late September.

Today’s Flowers #10

I think I was more excited about the green grasshopper than the flowers. The color of the flowers is very delicate, too. I took these on a walk in Willow’s neighborhood last week.
