FFF ~ Psalms

It’s time to think back over the week and consider your favorites for Friday’s Fave Five.

Please visit Susanne at Living to Tell the Story to join in.

I’ve been motivated to get out and walk more this week and here are 5 passages from Psalms I have on 3 x 5 cards to enjoy while I walk.

Psalm 36: 5-6

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the skies.

Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
O LORD, you preserve both man and beast.

Psalm 66: 1-4

Shout with joy to God, all the earth!

Sing the glory of his name;
make his praise glorious!

Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
So great is your power
that your enemies cringe before you.

All the earth bows down to you;
they sing praise to you,
they sing praise to your name.”
Selah

Psalm 103: 1-5

Praise the LORD, O my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Praise the LORD, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits-

who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,

who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,

who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 105: 1-4

Praise the LORD, O my soul.
O LORD my God, you are very great;
you are clothed with splendor and majesty.

He wraps himself in light as with a garment;
he stretches out the heavens like a tent

and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters.
He makes the clouds his chariot
and rides on the wings of the wind.

He makes winds his messengers,
flames of fire his servants.

Psalm 89: 1-2

I will sing of the LORD’s great love forever;
with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

I will declare that your love stands firm forever,
that you established your faithfulness in heaven itself.

Hope you are all having time to relax and enjoy your summer. I’m contemplating taking a break for a couple of weeks from blogging while I enjoy some summer company and anticipate a short trip to Sacramento for a funeral. Thanks for stopping by!

***I’m headed out on a little adventure so I won’t be around to visit till later this evening or tomorrow!

Round Robin Challenge ~ 5 Miles!

Hi, Robins! Time for our new challenge! This one was suggested by Carly back in June 2008. The Round Robin Challenge for Saturday, March 27, is Up to Five Miles Away.

(5.0 miles = 8.04672 km.)
First I drove South. This was at 5.1 miles because I had to find a safe parking spot! This is a park in the city of Kirkland, Washington that is on the shore of Lake Washington. It was a cloudy morning…
Driving North for 5 miles I found “The Chicken” This is at Country Village in Bothell, Washington.
It really is wonderful to think about all these great destinations just 5 miles from my home. This was such a fun challenge because now I have a better handle on how many miles things are away from me.
Going East about 5 miles away brought me to 3 distinct watering holes. Ste Michelle Winery in a French Chateau setting. I would have had to have driven beyond the 5 mile mark to get photos of the chateau. Columbia Winery was visible from the street at the 5 mile mark and is directly across the street from Ste Michelle with a more Victorian architecture and then kiddy corner from both of these great wineries is your good ole roadside tavern!
This is the Columbia Winery in Woodinville.
Now if I would have gone to the 6 mile mark on this road it would have brought me to Redhook Brewery and then to the Herb Farm a renowned restaurant in Woodinville.
It will be fun to visit all you Robin’s and see what there is to see about 5 miles from your homes…

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

Today’s Flowers #11

This photo was taken at the Columbia Winery in the State of Washington in late September.

For more flowers from around the world visit Denise and Luiz at Today’s Flowers.

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage on their site and have replaced my photos with black and grey boxes of ugliness. I’m slowly deleting those boxes from my blog and trying to update so many posts, very frustrating.

The End of Summer

It’s time for the Round Robin Photo Challenge and the theme is End of Summer.

The Southern California end of summer signs…

Another tell tale sign that summer is over…

Beautiful spider webs with sparkling dew…

And here is a view of the end of summer from the state of Washington…

Sky Watch #12 ~ Washington

All of these photos were taken last Saturday at Ste Michelle Winery and Columbia Winery in Woodinville, Washington. These great wineries are located across the road from each other. The Fall skies were beautiful during our extended weekend visit.

Ruby Tuesday ~ Washington State

My Ruby Tuesday Collage is from the State of Washington. I’m flying home from Seattle in a couple hours and decided to post something from my weekend here.

For more Ruby Tuesday visit Maryt at Work of the Poet.

Fun in Seattle!

Our short time in Seattle has been filled to the brim with activity, work, and just plain fun. On Friday night after a day of working in the basement and around the house we went out to our favorite Mexican Restaurant with all of our kids except for Dan. (He was in Colorado Elk hunting). It’s fun to go to a restaurant where the staff knows us and comes over and wants to know how long we’ll be in town this time. :0)

On Saturday Lana G. and I went to our favorite shopping place…the Goodwill! We have a tradition that whoever spends the most on these shopping trips has to treat for lunch. We had some very good finds at Goodwill and Lana managed to spend the most so lunch was on her. (Oh I’ll be showing my goodies later this week) We have always been intrigued with Burgermaster but never stopped in before. Saturday was the day and it was a load of fun. It’s a drive in and dine in your car place. The staff comes up to your car window to take the order and they deliver it there, too. Lana and I had a great time. Our server was very happy to have his photo taken! After dropping our goodies off at home we zipped over to Ste Michelle and Columbia wineries to pick up some wine and to take some photos of fall color.

We came home and our kids made dinner for us to celebrate Dear’s belated birthday. Dan made it home from Colorado just in time for dinner and it was so nice to all be together for this meal. In the collage Columbia Winery is in the top right photo and Ste Michelle Winery is in the bottom left. They are across the road from each other. Lana G., her husband Steve, and Katie’s boyfriend Ben joined us for dinner. Oh and that is Lana donning the pirate garb!

Yikes we fly back to L.A. on Monday evening and we still have a mile long list of things we want to do before we leave. I’ll be back to visiting my bloggy friends on Tuesday. Have a great week everyone…
