Just Out My Door…

for Outdoor Wednesday hosted by Susan at A Southern DayDreamer.

I found these fun metal star stakes in the clearance section of my grocery store. I’ll be putting them away for now and pulling them out next year for Memorial Day and the 4th of July. Some of my flowers are still blooming.

This spider has been busy and was content to sit while I took a photo.

It’s a beautiful sunny day here in the Puget Sound area of Washington today. The nights have turned very cold, though. I’ll be bundling up to head to Qwest Field for the U.S. Soccer Cup Final between the Seattle Sounders and Columbus Crew tonight.

Hope you are having a great beginning to your Autumn!

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

Mosaics With Blue Confessions…

It’s the time of year for scenes like these. Confession #1: All these scenes are from last October.

These shots are from this year, this past Saturday. Getting closer to Blue here. Confession #2: I’ve started a weight/exercise regimen. I wasn’t going to share this at all because every time in the last year I’ve “tried” something and shared it I end up gaining weight and I’m a little embarrassed about that. So the program I’m trying gives me one day a week to eat whatever I want. That day was Saturday so Dear and I were up early as usual and decided to make a 3 mile roundtrip walk to a donut shop. I sense some skeptics out there shaking their heads and thinking poor ellen b. she’s doomed to failure again. I’ll try to keep you posted on how good or bad I do.  :0)

Finally I’ve gotten to the blue for Blue Monday. These shots are from Saturday also and this was a great new Mexican spot we enjoyed in Ventura, California called Taqueria Tepatitlan. Remember this is my eat anything day and I didn’t take photos to show you what I had for dinner! Look real hard at the window and Corona sign and you’ll see the blue. Confession #3: Since there was so little actual blue in my shots I added the blue background to trick you into thinking this qualifies as a Blue Monday Post.

Now make sure and visit Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday and visit Sally at Smiling Sally for Blue Monday!

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

Today’s Flowers ~ #13

Both of these photos were taken on October 21st in Southern California at a Farm in Moorpark.

ABC Wednesday ~ Outdoors in Santa Barbara

We are on the letter O and my choices are October, Outdoors, On the Coast, On a Walk, Overcast!

Dear and I drove up the coast last Saturday. After a drive through San Marcos Pass to stop at Cold Springs Tavern for breakfast, we headed back to the shoreline in Santa Barbara for a walk. We headed up the beachwalk to the Bird Refuge. There was quite an intense marine layer effect happening on our drive and during our walk. We could not see out into the Pacific. We headed to the refuge and the layer was a little less dense here.

I was really happy to capture this Pelican at the refuge. Oops I guess I should have saved him for next week. P is for Pelican…

Ruby Tuesday ~ Autumn Fun

Decided to go with the Autumn theme again this week for Ruby Tuesday. We’ve got the pumpkin patch, my Turkey Cookie creation (hee, hee) and one of the happy ghosts from my string of lights for Halloween.

Have a great Tuesday everyone and if you’d like to see more Ruby Tuesday visit Mary here.

Fridays Fave 5

This hasn’t been one of my favorite weeks for sure because of Dear and I getting sick and being “In” all weekend and Monday. But that won’t stop me from finding 5 things that made my week, anyway!

1. Seeing this photo of all my kids together having fun with two of their cousins at the Japanese Gardens in Seattle.

Niece-Michelle, Daughter-Katie, Niece-Melissa, DIL-Laura, Son-Dan, Son-Josh

2. Cracking myself up creating these Turkey Cookies!

3. Meeting my niece Michelle and my Grand Nephew Jackson at the Pumpkin Patch!

4. Hearing that our 911 neighbor is moving out soon. Hopefully peace will be restored around here…

5. My last Fave is having a little Attitude Adjustment at the Beach on Thursday morning this week.

I’m throwing in a few more photos of my kids from the Japanese Gardens as a bonus for ME! :0)

My Boys (Men)

Josh and Laura!

My Niece Michelle (Jackson’s mom) and daughter Katie.

Thanks Michelle for letting me steal these photos of you all at the Garden!

Sky Watch #15

These were taken this week at a farm in Moorpark, California where I met my niece and her son. Our weather has really heated up this week and we have had more Santana wind (dry hot devil winds). Yesterday we were in the 90’s and these temps are continuing. We hope to cool down soon :0)

October??

Can anyone tell me what’s wrong with this forecast!?

Sorry I don’t usually rant on my blog but my resolve has been weakened by my cold which is ending with sinus pressure headaches and this forecast isn’t helping.

The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns ~ Hymn

The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns

The King shall come when morning dawns,
And light triumphant breaks;
When beauty gilds the eastern hills,
And life to joy awakes.

Not as of old a little child
To bear, and fight, and die,
But crowned with glory like the sun
That lights the morning sky.

O brighter than the rising morn
When He, victorious, rose,
And left the lonesome place of death,
Despite the rage of foes.

O brighter than that glorious morn
Shall this fair morning be,
When Christ, our King, in beauty comes,
And we His face shall see.

The King shall come when morning dawns,
And earth’s dark night is past;
O haste the rising of that morn,
The day that aye shall last.

And let the endless bliss begin,
By weary saints foretold,
When right shall triumph over wrong,
And truth shall be extolled.

The King shall come when morning dawns,
And light and beauty brings:
Hail, Christ the Lord! Thy people pray,
Come quickly, King of kings.

Skywatch #13

I was so excited that our skies in Camarillo, California got a little worked up last week instead of being their plain blue or haze. I always enjoy seeing clouds above me :0)
