It’ll Heal Before Your Wedding

Dear found this site, lingua junkie, that explains some Russian sayings/proverbs that we have found humorous.

They happened to have one of my favorites that I’ve quoted over the years.

До сва́дьбы заживёт.
English pronunciation: Do svadbi zazhivyot.
Literal meaning: It’ll heal before your wedding.
This idiom is used for cuts, bruises and other petty things that kids will cry about. Parents say this, because, you know, for kids – a wedding is still very much far off. Unless you’re arranged to be married at the age of 10, then that just sucks.
Vocab:
свадьба – svad’ba – wedding
зажить – zazhit – to heal
Do you have any favorite sayings or proverbs?

Linking up to ABC Wednesday for the letter I. Thank you to Mrs. Nesbitt for starting the meme and for Roger and the team for administering it faithfully.

So this will be one of those weeks where I’ll be off kilter since Monday was a holiday here in the States. It will be a intense and interesting week with celebrations, interviews, remembrances, etc. What’s on your agenda?

Tablescape Thursday ~ Apple Blossoms!

If it’s Wednesday that means it’s time to get ready for Thursday and the world of Tablescapes. Susan at Between Naps on the Porch is the hostess with the mostess for this event. Click on over to see a lovely array of styles, shapes, and colors!

This week I brought my Apple Blossoms inside as the inspiration for my table.

When I was at Goodwill earlier this week I found these great apple and apple blossom napkins, 10 for $4.99. I don’t think they’ve been used at all. The napkin rings are part of an apple with the stem and leaves.

I only have 4 of the apple blossom dessert plates so I set the table for 4. The plates are “Blossom Time”, Made in Staffordshire, England with a 22KT. Gold Decoration. I bought the goblets from Goodwill last year and they have a gold/yellow tint to them. The pink depression glass items are from Dear’s Great, great aunt.

I started with one of the napkins on the center of the table but thought again and took it off.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see my Apple Blossom Table.

Psalm 17:8 ~ Keep me as the apple of your eye;
hide me in the shadow of your wings.

Proverbs 7:2 ~ Keep my commands and you will live;
guard my teachings as the apple of your eye.

Proverbs 25:11 ~ A word aptly spoken
is like apples of gold in settings of silver.

Enjoy your day!

Happy 86th Birthday Pop!

“Many a man proclaims his own loving-kindness and goodness, but a faithful man who can find? The righteous man walks in his integrity; blessed -happy, fortunate and enviable-are his children after him.” Proverbs 20: 6,7 (The Amplified Old Testament)

 Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage on their site and have replaced my photos with black and grey boxes of ugliness. I’m slowly deleting those boxes from my blog and trying to update so many posts, very frustrating.

WFW ~ Proverbs 27:14

I love this little water color sketch I bought for my daughter years ago from Goodwill with this verse on it. We still get a big kick out of it. Kindness can be shown in very creative ways like understanding the difference between “morning people” and “night people”.

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage. They have blacked out all those photos on my blog posts. OH BOTHER! I’m slowly cleaning up my posts.
