I went to the “Happiest Place on Earth” last Wednesday and these are some of the Ruby shots I took while I was there.
Clarification: For those of you that don’t know, Disneyland in Anaheim, California, is the “happiest place on earth”.

This was a mural I took a photo of at Venice Beach, California. They all look wrinkled to me…

Susanne at Living to Tell the Story is hosting a new Friday meme called Friday’s Fave Five. You just have to post 5 favorite things from this past week and link back to her blog. She’ll have a Mr. Linky so you can join in easily. Here are my Favorites from this past week.
1. Having our daughter visit us with her boyfriend. They arrived at the Long Beach Airport on Monday morning and I picked them up and we did some sight seeing on the way home.
2. Meeting up with my walking buddy and having a walk in Old Towne Camarillo with some Antique shopping and thrift shopping along the way.
3. Going to Disneyland and meeting up with family for some fun.
4. Eating out with family. This photo is from Naples Ristorante in Downtown Disney where 8 of our extended family met up to eat and enjoy each other around food again.
5. Last favorite was being able to catch several Olympic Soccer Games and especially the Gold Medal Win by the U.S. Women’s Team. Hope Solo was amazing in goal! Well done ladies!!

I’m back in Southern California and for the letter E I’m sharing these sculptures that are in Old Town Camarillo and at the Civic Center in Thousand Oaks, California. The Sculpture in the next few photos really shows the fierceness of an Eagle to me. Kind of scary…

I will be at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on Wednesday and hope to get around to visit more ABC’s on Thursday.

My six weeks in Washington State are winding down. I’m here for 5 more days and then Dear and I hit the long road home to Southern California. My hydrangeas in Washington have reached their full bloom. My hydrangea plant in California is dead by now because Dear forgot to ask our neighbors to water our plants while we’ve been gone. Oops!
One thing that keeps us awake and makes the trip seem shorter from here to there are books on CD. I was so excited to find this at Goodwill and look forward to listening to hours of one of our all time favorites…
This week we’ll be getting in some last minute visits with friends and family here in the Seattle area. Maybe I’ll fit in one more trip to Goodwill. I hope all of you have a great week.

While Katie and I were canoeing around Lake Washington we saw many Herons, Ducks, and Lily pads. We also saw some turtles, a woodpecker, and a raccoon in the water.

We’re headed back to the Canoe barn. We have to canoe all the way back to Husky Stadium. Can you see it in the distance. Now we’re getting closer. When we reach these lily pads and colorful boats we only have a short distance to go. I did put my camera down now and again to help Katie paddle back. Going across this part of Lake Washington was the roughest part of our canoeing but still very doable for us gals…
If you missed it my first post on our canoeing trip is here.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing
Half so much worth doing
As simply messing about in boats

Katie and I continue on our quest to re-visit places we love in the Greater Puget Sound Area on her days off. On Thursday we headed over to the University of Washington Water Front Activities Center to use her Student card to rent a canoe and paddle about Lake Washington. Once we were in the water, her doing most of the paddling, me taking the photos, we looked at each other and said “why have we waited so long to do this?” It’s been about 17 years!

We headed over to the 520 (Evergreen Floating Bridge) to go under it and on to quieter and more peaceful waterways.

See that little wooden foot bridge? We’ll duck and go under it. “Keep paddling Katie, I’m getting some great photos!”

So quiet and peaceful. The water is so calm and is a mirror reflecting the trees and sky. It was just about here that we started singing
“Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Amen”

I have so many beautiful photos to share from our canoeing adventure, the herons, ducks, lily pads and our journey back to Husky stadium. I’ll be sharing more later along with our trip to the Husky campus to take in the beautiful Suzzalo Library reading room. Blessings!
While I’m in the Seattle area for a spell, Katie and I are doing some tourist projects on her days off. We’re going out to enjoy God’s creation around us here in the Puget Sound Area. On Tuesday we took a trip to Bellevue to stroll through the Botanical Gardens. There were so many beautiful things to see. The garden is free with free parking, too. It’s located on Main Street between 120th Ave. NE and 124th Ave. NE.
So lush, so green, this is one of the benefits of our climate in the Northwest.
Makes you think that Faeries might be living here.
The different shades of green were wonderful. The sun was shining without a cloud in the sky so the light made for some great contrast with shadow.
Many of the Spring blooms have faded but there were plenty of summer blooms for us to enjoy. I’d love to come back here in the Spring.
Golden shades of yellow ~
Some more exotic looking blooms and ferns.
The Fuchsias were blooming.
Lovely shades of purple.
Don’t you just love all the pink flowers God created for us to enjoy. Hydrangeas are just coming out in their glory. And now for the prettiest blossom in the garden…
Our sweet daughter Katie. Today she had a crooked smile because she had just had some dental work done and half her mouth was numb. Beautiful never-the-less.
Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage. They have blacked out all those photos on my blog posts. OH BOTHER! I’m slowly cleaning up my posts.
