Reaching Back…

…for The Barn Collective

This was taken back in the middle of December on our trip to La Conner. We arrived to Skagit County early so we took a detour along the farm roads close to Mt. Vernon before we continued on to La Conner.

Our Sunday has started out cold with beautiful sun breaks and then some popcorn snow. Not enough snow here to cover anything. Some areas of Washington state are getting a lot. Our daughter-in-law sent us this photo of our son and son-in-law in the front yard of our middle son’s home in Northeastern Washington. They had a nice walk in the snow. All of our children are spending a weekend together in this winter wonderland. Praying for safe travels for them tomorrow.

Barns and Birthday!

We spotted these red barns on Conway Hill road in Skagit County back in December of 2017.

Back to the present. We had a wonderful time catching up with our Western Washington kids over a belated birthday dinner for our son Josh.

Looking forward to some plans and ideas that we came up with to make moving easier for everyone! We also enjoyed lots of good food.

Appetizers, then salad and on to the main course of rack of lamb with rice pilaf ending with chocolate cake and ice cream.

Red Skagit Barns

A month ago we drove to La Conner in Skagit County for lunch with a friend. On the way home we took a back road and saw these red barns and others I’ll share later. Looks like this one above is a gym.

We had a busy couple of days with special overnight guests, our daughter-in-law, Addy and Granny great. They are on snowy roads heading home today.

We had to hurry out and take the patio covers down on Friday when the first snow came down so they wouldn’t get torn by the heavy snow. We draped them over the privacy fence until they dry and we can fold them up and put them away until late Spring. We were surprised again to see snow this morning. So early and out of the ordinary for our area. Have you had snow yet?

Road Trip Barns…

Last Sunday we traveled north to Canada for a get-together with friends. These are the barns I took photos of on the way.

We had a relatively quiet weekend which is very nice once in a while. Our sermon this morning was on ingratitude and why we should practice gratitude in our lives. “Gratitude unleashes God’s love in our lives”. It is important to verbalize your gratitude.
