We spotted these red barns on Conway Hill road in Skagit County back in December of 2017.

Back to the present. We had a wonderful time catching up with our Western Washington kids over a belated birthday dinner for our son Josh.
Looking forward to some plans and ideas that we came up with to make moving easier for everyone! We also enjoyed lots of good food.
Appetizers, then salad and on to the main course of rack of lamb with rice pilaf ending with chocolate cake and ice cream.
How was your weekend? Was it quiet or filled with activity?

Oh my gosh that sounds like a wonderful birthday dinner. I haven’t thought about avocados and grapefruit for a long time — we used to do that as a salad and it would be perfect for Florida!!
Very quiet here! Our last weekend at the ranch. We go home tomorrow. I wish I could take my country frame of mind and way of living back to the city with me. Alas, that never works. I’m so very grateful to bave both worlds in my life and the time to visit each one often and long…..

Those red barns are gorgeous! Your birthday dinner sounds amazing Ellen. I love how you “celebrate”. Our weekend was busy and fun. We set some plans with our friends for an Alaska tour and cruise – come this July! We fly to your city and then on to Fairbanks – we are looking forward to this trip.

I am not the least bit surprised that you had a happy family gathering …. or that you made rack of lamb – wow! We had quite a busy weekend, but it was nice combination of fun activities and household chores. I hope the move is continuing to progress smoothly.
