Truth from A to Z Bible Verse Challenge ~ Q

January is moving along and we have come to the letter Q. Choices might seem easier this week as the letter Q has a shorter quantity of words in our Concordances! Enjoy your search and thank you very much for sharing your verse or verses in the comments here and I’ll add them to this post as soon as I can.

Q is for Quarrelsome:

Proverbs 21:9 (ESV)

It is better to live in a corner of the housetop than in a house shared with a quarrelsome wife.

From Cheryl: Q is for Quicken:

“Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth” Psalms 119:88

From Vera:

Q is for QUALITIES:

“For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:5-9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Her word is quieted with some inspirational thoughts, too.

From Maristella:

Q is for QUIET:
“The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside *quiet* waters.”
Psalm 23:1-2
And
“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and *quiet* spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”
1 Peter 3:3-4

From Happyone:

Q is for Quench:

Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to QUENCH all the fiery darts of the wicked.

From Patsystitch:

Q is for Quarrelsome:

2 Timothy 2:24
And the Lord’s servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,

A day we’ll never forget.

This flag that I unfurled out the window of our daughter’s room in 2001 is the flag that was presented to my mother-in-law, Verna, at Dear’s father Rex’s funeral in 1985. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. This window is on the street side of our home. Things have changed on this side of the house but the memories are the same. This flag is folded and in a special flag case in our living room.

This photo was taken 9-11-11. Whoever was alive that day in 2001 will never forget that day and all the evil that unfolded. We’ll also never forget the people aboard flight 93 that defended us and after reciting this Psalm stopped that plane’s flight and lost their lives rallying around the cry, “Let’s Roll”.

A Psalm of David. Psalm 23 (ESV)

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
 He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
   for hisname’s sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
   I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
   your rod and your staff,
   they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
   in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
   my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD
   forever.

And now 18 years have passed since that day in 2001.

September 11th of 2018 was the day we closed on our country bungalow. It’s been a full year that we’ve owned this home.

We recorded on September 11, 2018 and received our keys at 6pm. It was getting dark when we headed over to take a quick walk-thru to drop off a small load of stuff. We (myself, son, DIL and grandgirlie). Dear remained on the west side of the mountains with responsibilities to wrap up.

This is our new driveway and I went to the street to take photos of the drive for our container delivery people. Addy spotted me and made a run for it to join me. I had to catch her at full speed before she toppled over!

So much has happened in the year we’ve lived here including a new grandson. We are thankful that God has been with us in this move and in settling down in our new environment. Looking forward to getting more settled in the years to come.

Sorrow for a Blogger…

When I started blogging in 2007 I never dreamed of the community of bloggers I would grow to love and enjoy even though I might  never see them in person. Since 2007 I have met some fellow bloggers in person and have never been disappointed in the meeting and the time spent together.

Last week our blogging community heard that Vee’s husband John was airlifted to a hospital with life threatening complications. We then heard that he lost his battle and was ushered into glory on Saturday May 28th. Our blogging community mourns with Vee. I mourn and pray that God will comfort Vee and her family and John’s family as they say their goodbyes. Even though I’ve never met you or John face to face I love you both with the love that God gives to us for each other.

Broadway Day 7 038-001Psalm 23 (KJV)

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Broadway Day 7 038If we’ve been saved and redeemed by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we can look forward to a wonderful reunion at the marriage feast of the lamb in glory even if we never meet on this earth! What a wonderful day that will be.

Lord, please comfort our dear sister Vee as she walks through her grief and sorrow at the loss of her John.
