Family Colors

Early on Tuesday Laura started a text with our family members asking us to show our Sounders Colors. We texted her back our shots of support and she made the collage. When it comes to sports we are a Sounders Soccer Family. And right now David (Sounders) beat Goliath (LAFC) 3-1 on their home field. Our boys are going to the MLS Cup Final on November 10th against either Atlanta or Toronto. Those two teams play each other tomorrow night. It was fun sending texts back and forth during the game. It will be a while before I can fall asleep now…

…So I’ll add some fun things that more people can relate to in this post.

Speaking of colors Jamie and the kids were able to enjoy some color and leaves before the weather turned on us.

How cute are they covered in leaves!? Maple Trees are the best for an abundance of leaves. This was how the day was going before we had that freak snowfall on Monday the 28th of October. All the snow is gone and temps are still cold but we are on a slight warming trend.

Fresh apples off the tree before the bear eats them all. Yep, our kids have had a bear visiting their property. Hopefully he’ll go find a place to hibernate soon.

Do you have any wild animals that visit your property?

We Have Fallen, A Leaf’s Perspective…

Now it’s up to you to pick us all up and put us away till next year.

You can just blow us off somewhere unless…

…we get stuck in the nooks and crannies.

And now we are wet which adds another dimension of challenge to get rid of us.

We are mostly off the huge Maple in your neighbor’s yard. Just one more good windy day and the branches will be bare.

The day has come and now you can clear the rain gutters of the last remaining leaves.

Eat, Drink, and Be Merry for the leaves are gone till next Fall!

And if laboring over leaves wasn’t enough I’m now having some physical therapy to help with the extreme tightness of my IT Band that has been giving me some grief. Sad but true you have to exercise and try to endure more pain to get rid of the pain and here is one of my new torture instruments.

This is called The Stick…hmm…catchy but it works like a rolling pin to work out the tightness of your muscles.

So…thank you Lord for seasons, for the strength to deal with the fallen leaves, for the enjoyment of good food that nourishes our bodies, for physical therapy to repair and strengthen our bodies and for Spiritual therapy to strengthen and anchor our souls.

Hebrews 16:19-20 (ESV) ~ 19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Welcoming Fences…

This fence makes me smile and invites me in to do a little thrift shopping. It’s been ages since I thrift shopped regularly. Something that was fun while it lasted but good to leave behind for a season or two or three!

Yesterday I worked hard in our yard with all the clean-up after our mighty wind storm on Saturday. I picked up all the tree branches that had fallen and then decided it would just be quicker and easier to mow up all the leaves after I raked them out of planters and away from the fences. It was a bit unexpected to be picking up green leaves. Everything looks nice and tidy again but Fall is coming and soon there will be leaves, golden instead of green and in abundance falling from the huge maple in our neighbor’s yard that hangs over into our yard. Despite the extra work, I do love Fall.
