Valentine’s Day Adventures and Surprises!

We started our Valentine’s Day very early with a low tide walk at Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura. This was a very cold morning for Southern California and we were layered well and I had my gloves on. Our faces were very cold when we walked into the wind. The only others up and paying attention to us were those 2 doggies in the window! We stopped for breakfast at Allison’s in Ventura then made a stop at Target where we bought 2 bookshelves for our living area (I wiill show how the space was transformed in my Metamorphosis post for Monday :0) Then we stopped at the Home Depot to buy an upper kitchen cabinet to put in our bathroom for some extra storage. I’ll show that project next week. Now Dear had the perfect Valentine’s Day ahead of him putting things together with his hand tools!

While we were busy recreating our space in the condo the doorbell rang and the florist brought this lovely bouquet from our children to us for Valentine’s Day. So unexpected and so appreciated. What wonderful thoughtful children God has blessed us with.

Can’t help but show you…

Isn’t the vase they came in pretty with the etchings on it?

Then after all the projects were done and we got cleaned up we were ready for our Valentine’s dinner. A very lovely, fulfilling day filled with lots of love…

God is good to us! Blessings on your upcoming Sunday.

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage unless I pay them a lot of money. I’m slowly cleaning up many posts from this time period and deleting their ugly grey and black boxes with a ransom request. Such a time consuming bother.

My Last Pink Saturday…

I am so sad to say that this will have to be my last Pink Saturday. Saturday is a very hard day for me to find time to blog. Dear and I leave the house before dawn to have our weekly walk at the beach and we never know what adventure we’ll decide on after our walk. I always feel so guilty about not getting around to all the lovely pink that day and it just makes better sense for me to forfeit this pleasure. I want to thank Beverly, who I think is a fantastic hostess, for putting this together and for being so gracious. I’ll miss my Pink friends but I’ll probably see some of you at other memes Monday thru Friday. Blessings on all of you.

So here is my Pink for my farewell to Pink Saturday Post!

I’m so excited! I think I can now be inducted into the bloggy hall of fame because I have a glass dome that I put stuff under!! I’m going to go ahead and call it a Cloche. We  just purchased it at an antique shop in Arroyo Grande on January 18th. I’ve been on the hunt for a cloche and I still might end up buying a taller, narrower one…once I hear from the “Official Bloggy We’ll Induct You Into Our Hall of Fame Committee”. The glass cake plate it’s sitting on was from Target originally but I bought it at Goodwill.

Now look at all this sweet pinkness that my bloggy friend Cori G! gifted to me when we met face to face this last Tuesday. I was blown away by all these goodies. She made all those cards, bookmarks and tags herself. She’s a great designer! The four pretty Homer Laughlin plates are from a set of 8 she has. How generous of her to split the set for me. She participates in Pink Saturday from her Gingerbread Crumbs & Co.Blog.

This last one is for Beverly. I wish I could deliver a bouquet of these sweet pink flowers to your door for being such a kind hostess.

Ruby Tuesday ~ Farmer’s Market

On Saturday morning Dear and I got out bright and early and walked to our local Farmer’s Market to buy flowers for a dinner party we were hosting on Saturday night. My table was going to be Red, White and Black so I was looking for red and white flowers. There were some great bunches of radishes in reds and whites besides the flowers we found so I decided to add them to the bouquet! I love Farmer’s Market flower prices. The bunch of white and bunch of red flowers were $3 each and the radishes were 60 cents, so for $6.60 I had fresh flowers for the table.

Pink Saturday ~

Welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

One of the blessings of living in Southern California is that roses are still blooming in the winter. I took this photo on one of my walks with Willow in Southern California in January.

This next collage is a tease. I bought some thrift store items this week that I’m going to use for a completely different purpose than they were intended for. I will show you in the future what that purpose was and how I used them. Dear and I are off for an overnight getaway to Pismo Beach, California tomorrow and I hope to find some pink to post for next week and a “show and tell” on what I do with these purchases. Have a wonderful Pink Saturday everyone.

Today’s Flowers #19 ~ White as Snow…

I took these photos of all these beautiful white flowers a couple weeks ago at Molbaks Nursery in Woodinville, Washington. During this Christmas Season they remind me of Christ and His purity from birth till death and what he did for me.

Isaiah 1:18 ~ Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.”

Merry Christmas to all…

My God, I Thank Thee ~ Hymn

My God, I Thank Thee

My God, I thank Thee, who hast made
The earth so bright,
So full of splendor and of joy,
Beauty and light;
So many glorious things are here,
Noble and right.

I thank Thee, too, that Thou hast made
Joy to abound;
So many gentle thoughts and deeds
Circling us round,
That in the darkest spot of earth
Some love is found.

I thank Thee more that all our joy
Is touched with pain,
That shadows fall on brightest hours,
That thorns remain;
So that earth’s bliss may be our guide,
And not our chain.

For thou who knowest, Lord, how soon
Our weak heart clings,
Hast given us joys, tender and true,
Yet all with wings;
So that we see gleaming on high
Diviner things.

I thank Thee, Lord, that Thou hast kept
The best in store;
We have enough, yet not too much
To long for more:
A yearning for a deeper peace
Not known before.

I thank Thee, Lord, that here our souls
Though amply blessed,
Can never find, although they seek
A perfect rest;
Nor ever shall, until they lean
On Jesus’ breast

Today’s Flowers ~ #15

This was another flower I saw on one of my walks last week. I think it’s a variety of hibiscus. After I uploaded these photos I noticed that little ant in the top photo. :0)

Today’s Flowers #11

This photo was taken at the Columbia Winery in the State of Washington in late September.

Today’s Flowers #10

I think I was more excited about the green grasshopper than the flowers. The color of the flowers is very delicate, too. I took these on a walk in Willow’s neighborhood last week.
