Sky Watch Friday ~ The Good and the Tragic Skies…

Beautiful clear skies early last week with wonderful Poinsettias growing on the side of the road…

Then the Santana winds blew in sparking major fires in Southern California.

The smoke from all the fires made for an intense golden fiery sunrise on Saturday last week…

We in Southern California are so happy the fires from last week and weekend are under control. Many have lost everything and our hearts go out to them and our prayers continue for them. My nephews college in Montecito (Santa Barbara Area) had to shut down until December 1st because of damages from the fires. 14 faculty houses burned down besides some dorm rooms…

ABC’s of the Word ~ Radiance, Representation

Hebrews 1:3

He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

The First Dawn in November…

30 Days of Thanksgiving…I’m joining in with several bloggers who are posting what they are thankful for each day this month.

I’m so glad I stepped out past my front porch patio this morning and looked to the East. This is the first beautiful dawn of November. I was overjoyed to see it and I’m very thankful for God’s beautiful creation.

The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns ~ Hymn

The King Shall Come When Morning Dawns

The King shall come when morning dawns,
And light triumphant breaks;
When beauty gilds the eastern hills,
And life to joy awakes.

Not as of old a little child
To bear, and fight, and die,
But crowned with glory like the sun
That lights the morning sky.

O brighter than the rising morn
When He, victorious, rose,
And left the lonesome place of death,
Despite the rage of foes.

O brighter than that glorious morn
Shall this fair morning be,
When Christ, our King, in beauty comes,
And we His face shall see.

The King shall come when morning dawns,
And earth’s dark night is past;
O haste the rising of that morn,
The day that aye shall last.

And let the endless bliss begin,
By weary saints foretold,
When right shall triumph over wrong,
And truth shall be extolled.

The King shall come when morning dawns,
And light and beauty brings:
Hail, Christ the Lord! Thy people pray,
Come quickly, King of kings.

Dawn at Emma Wood State Beach

Dear and I attended church on Saturday evening this week so on Sunday morning we headed to Emma Wood State Beach in Ventura for an early morning walk.

We saw the sunrise.

The waves were beautiful to see and to hear.

As we walked closer to Surfer’s Point we began to see Surfers trying to catch the best waves.

There’s nothing like an early morning walk on the beach to set your mind on things above and to cause you to praise God’s mighty name and his power in creating the world we enjoy.

We shared the beach with lots of birds, the gulls, the godwits, the sanderlings, and the herons. That’s Dear enjoying the waves. And here’s a collage of some of the birds we viewed on this lovely Sunday morning.

“There is nothing like walking to get the feel of a country.  A fine landscape is like a piece of music; it must be taken at the right tempo.  Even a bicycle goes too fast.”
–   Paul Scott Mowrer

“The soverign invigorator of the body is exercise, and of all the exercises walking is the best.”
–   Thomas Jefferson

Hope you have a wonderful week.
