The Weekend Roundup “I”

Starts with “I.”

A Favorite.

Inside

This letter wasn’t an easy one for me but I know as soon as I visit other entries I’ll think, “why didn’t I think of that?”

Starts with I: Island

This was taken on Whidbey Island in Washington State looking towards Camano Island. Washington State has several lovely islands to visit. Some you can drive to using bridges and others you can enjoy with a ride on a ferry.

A Favorite:

Interesting scenes in Indiana that we don’t see here in Washington State.

Inside Rory’s looking out to the Puget Sound in Edmonds, Washington.

Linking up with Tom for The Weekend Roundup “I”.

I’ll try and visit as many as I can this evening as Dear and I head out early again tomorrow morning for our 6 hour trek to Northeastern Washington with another truck and trailer load. This trip I’m following behind in one of our cars and we’re leaving it in Colville just bringing home the truck and trailer to pack up the very last load!

Our 2nd Thanksgiving…

We are so thankful to be able to celebrate two Thanksgiving meals with two different groups of people. Our first Thanksgiving was not on the actual day set aside for Thanksgiving and it was small and sweet with just eight of us around the table.

For our second Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving day we traveled to Edmonds to our friends beautiful home on Puget Sound to enjoy turkey with all the trimmings with 46 of us all sitting at a table. Ha! The kids table, the young people table, and the old and wise people table!

It was a very windy day but the temperature was mild.

We were happy that Andrew and Katie could be with us on Thanksgiving since they missed our “first” Thanksgiving. Here’s Andrew, Katie and Bridget who used to live at this beautiful home before she got married.  If you are on instagram you should check out Bridget’s creative creations at http://instagram.com/flora.forager/?modal=true

This dear lady on the right is the Matriarch of the family and is an amazing lady. This photo is of Mary and her daughter in law Brenda.

If you are enjoying Thanksgiving in the Seattle area today you might have scheduled your meal to be done in time to watch the game!

This is my Dear and my dear friend Jody. She is the hostess with the mostess! Dear is always called in to be the master carver of the turkeys (3 turkeys for 46 people).

Did I mention it was windy. My hair is flip flopping with the wind. But…what a view behind my hair!

Thanking God today (and everyday) for dear friends, good food, family, beautiful views, and new friends, too.

I’ve Anchored in Jesus ~ Hymn

I’ve Anchored in Jesus

Upon life’s boundless ocean where mighty billows roll,
I’ve fixed my hope in Jesus, blest anchor of my soul;
When trials fierce assail me as storms are gathering o’er,
I rest upon His mercy and trust Him more.

Refrain

I’ve anchored in Jesus, the storms of life I’ll brave,
I’ve anchored in Jesus, I fear no wind or wave.
I’ve anchored in Jesus, for He hath power to save,
I’ve anchored to the Rock of Ages.

He keeps my soul from evil and gives me blessèd peace,
His voice hath stilled the waters and bid their tumult cease;
My Pilot and Deliverer, to Him I all confide,
For always when I need Him, He’s at my side.

Refrain

He is my Friend and Savior, in Him my anchor’s cast,
He drives away my sorrows and shields me from the blast;
By faith I’m looking upward beyond life’s troubled sea,
There I behold a haven prepared for me.

Refrain
