Blog Restoration August 2007

For whatever reason this birthday celebration for Greg in 2007 got removed from my blog and I’m adding the photos here for the sake of history. This celebration happened on the 31st of August instead of on his birthday because he would be back in Southern California on his actual day.

The dinner and dessert gathering happened on Friday evening the 31st of August in Edmonds, Washington.

A birthday trifle for a crowd was his cake this year.

Some memories are a little tougher than others. 🙂

Thankful for memories of this time and of our dear friends.

Before this celebration Josh, Laura, Katie, Greg and me were at our favorite Mexican Restaurant to celebrate together. It was our famous Tequila/Taco Tuesdays at La Corona in Kirkland.

Early on in our weekly tradition, Leticia was our waitress. In later years, when we switched to afternoons instead of evenings, Lilianna became our most favorite waitress ever!

I probably put together this next collage to post on Greg’s actual birthday in 2007. This was his 54th birthday!

Meanwhile back to 2026…

We enjoyed the cheesecake I made to celebrate Greg’s special day. Greg was with our middle son on his birthday hauling firewood and when unloading at their house our grands and DIL were able to wish Gramps a happy birthday. Our oldest and youngest called with birthday greetings for their dad. Greg’s brother and sister-in-law who live in North Carolina also called with birthday wishes. Greg was thankful, too, for all the greetings for his day on my blog and on Facebook and Instagram and texts!

Labor of Love

I’ve put a lot of time into my blog on this Labor Day weekend. I used Photobucket for my photo storage at the very beginning and at that time it was a free service. Then a few years in and thousands of photos later they decided to charge for this service and at the beginning the charge was more than I was willing to pay. This left thousands of my posts blotted out messes. I now have access to those photos again so I’m going back and fixing things. It is a chore. I’ve made it through 2007 and half of 2008.

It has been nostalgic and eye opening to all the things I forgot and all the nonsense I posted. Ha!

Some of these events that got blotted out completely I don’t want to forget. This is the first one from May 5th, 2007.

This is for my blogging journal history.

 

On the way to our nephew Tim’s graduation from Westmont on Saturday May 5th of 2007 we stopped at the Beach Cafe for breakfast.

Since our little condo in Camarillo was the closest to Montecito (Santa Barbara) we offered up a little stopover for all to celebrate after the Graduation ceremonies before the attendees had to travel further for home.

I cannot remember what we fed people for this time together. We lived in this condo from 2006 until early 2010.

This nephew was married in 2008 and has two daughters a dog and some chickens. 🙂

There will be more of these historical posts in the future as I tidy up things on my blog.
