Outdoor Wednesday ~ Malibu Lagoon

On Saturday Dear and I went down the coast to Malibu to check out the Malibu Lagoon. It was a drizzly gray day in Southern California but that’s good weather for Dear and I.

Don’t Pelicans look a bit pre-historic to you? I’m thinking Pterodactyl here!

This beautiful white Heron came gliding in. They are always so much fun to watch in flight.

Look at that duck surfing on that board! It was fun to see other critters besides birds, too.

While we were here we also explored the grounds of the Adamson House which is part of the Malibu Lagoon State Park and owned by the state of California. If you ever visit the lagoon make sure you cross the bridge over the lagoon on PCH and visit the house.

Have a great Wednesday everyone and make sure you click over to Susan’s at A Southern DayDreamer to see more of the Oudoor World.

Window Views ~ Santa Clara Catholic Church

My Window Views this week are from Santa Clara Catholic church in Oxnard, California. I love that most Catholic churches are always open and I can walk in and enjoy the beautiful windows up close…

You can read about the history of this church here.

Outdoor Wednesday ~ El Matador State Beach

It’s almost Wednesday and time for Outdoor Wednesday hosted by Susan at A Southern DayDreamer. I went to explore a beach I’ve never been to before last week. It’s one I’d love to go to again…

You access this beach from a steep dirt path and then some steep stairways.

The rocks were a great visual treat!

It was fun to watch the pelicans fly and land. The cormorants just sat still the whole time I was there. I took lots of photos of the pelicans and I’ve already posted some.

Happy Outdoors to you! Looking forward to seeing your outdoor shots. Here’s hoping Mr. Linky will behave and give Susan a break this week!

Three or More Tuesday

My Three or more photos are all taken at El Matador Beach North of Malibu. The pelicans were out in numbers and it was fun to try to capture them in flight.

Tam at A Gypsy’s Corner is the hostess for Three or More each week. Click on over to see more or to join in.

Outdoor Wednesday ~ Laguna Beach

It’s time to join Susan at A Southern Day Dreamer for a look at the outside world around Bloggyland.

Last week I didn’t participate because I was away from my computer at Laguna Beach and then Disneyland. Today I’m sharing some shots I took walking along Heisler Park off Cliff Dr. in beautiful Laguna Beach, California.

The most Pelicans I’ve ever seen flying together in formation!

Enjoy the beautiful world God created for us today and everyday!

Blue Monday ~ Disneyland!

Welcome to Blue Monday. Smiling Sally is our hostess for this weekly event so click on over to see more Blue or to join in with your blue.

My Blue photos were all taken at Disneyland Anaheim last Wednesday. There really was a lot of blue around the park.

I really enjoyed seeing this pretty blue.

So anyone out there up for taking my quiz on identifying these photos and where you’ll find them at Disneyland? Just leave your answers in the comments :0)

Happy Blue Monday everyone!

Send the Light! ~ Hymn

Send the Light

There’s a call comes ringing over the restless wave,
“Send the light! Send the light!”
There are souls to rescue there are souls to save,
Send the light! Send the light!

Refrain

Send the light, the blessèd Gospel light;
Let it shine from shore to shore!
Send the light, the blessèd Gospel light;
Let it shine forevermore!

We have heard the Macedonian call today,
“Send the light! Send the light!”
And a golden offering at the cross we lay,
Send the light! Send the light!

Refrain

Let us pray that grace may everywhere abound,
“Send the light! Send the light!”
And a Christlike spirit everywhere be found,
Send the light! Send the light!

Refrain

Let us not grow weary in the work of love,
“Send the light! Send the light!”
Let us gather jewels for a crown above,
Send the light! Send the light!

Refrain

Sherman Library & Gardens

Last Tuesday on my drive to Laguna Beach I spotted this sign and decided to stop and check it out. I peeked in and liked what I saw and then noticed that they also had a Cafe. It cost me $3.00 to come onto the grounds and get to Cafe Jardin.

I had a nice lunch in a great peaceful setting with a lovely view. After lunch my camera and I did some scouting and we really got our $3.00 worth!

Sherman Library & Gardens was founded in 1966 by Arnold D. Haskell and named in memory of Moses H. Sherman, educator and California pioneer.

The grounds are beautifully arranged and the Spring colors were gorgeous. The library focuses on the history of the Pacific Southwest and is a research library not a circulating library.

Miss Hope’s First Visit to Disneyland!

Miss Hope’s mom Mandy, Me, Michelle, Melissa, Lana G!, Jackson and Kathy met at Disneyland on Wednesday to enjoy Miss Hope’s first trip to Disneyland.

We started with lunch at the Carnation Corner Cafe.

We decided to start the fun with the “It’s a Small World” ride.

On to the Carousel. This was Miss Hope’s first ride on one. She was so interested in everything and when the ride came to the end she cried when Aunt Lana took her off her horse!

Sisters …so cute!

We headed for Toon Town next and let Miss Hope travel on foot for a while…

We enjoyed so many culinary favorites while at the Big D! Frozen chocolate covered bananas were a big hit with everyone including Miss Hope!

Time to head to Pooh Corner…

Miss Hope was thrilled with Winnie the Pooh. Jackson watched over her to make sure she was O.K.

She wasn’t as familiar with Tigger!

Okay! This is my favorite expression so far. Doesn’t it look like she got caught with her hand in the cookie jar?

We ended our time on the Tea Cups!

And left the park with Aunt Lana’s souvenir gift for Miss Hope…
