2. Favorite Color

june photo challenge 018I don’t have a favorite color as much as favorite color combinations. I’ve always loved pink and green. I also really love muted shades of purple with green.

I’m also a sucker for blue and white, especially blue and white dishes.

February Note Card Party!

I’m scrambling to find the photos for Vee’s February Note Card Party. Thank you Vee for hosting. My theme this month is all about visiting Seattle and getting your photograph with the iconic Space Needle in view!

If you have never visited our beautiful city surrounded by evergreens and water you need to put it on your list of places to visit. No one has paid me to entice you to visit!

Happy to report the sun is shining right now in the Seattle area. We have had some very blustery winds and lots of rainfall over the last few days. I’m listening with interest on the storms that are predicted to hit areas in the midwest and east again and hope you all fair well. My hair has fared well today and all the grey is covered…

“Fare thee well! and if for ever,
Still for ever, fare thee well:
Even though unforgiving, never
‘Gainst thee shall my heart rebel…”

Apples to Applesauce…

At first I thought our apple tree only yielded about 10 apples this year but when I finally got the ladder out to pick them I found I had underestimated the yield. I always ignore my apples (don’t judge me). This year I decided to be a good girl and try to use them. Over the weekend I made about 8 cups of applesauce. My first time ever making applesauce. Because one of our favorite cakes is an applesauce spice cake I thought making applesauce would be worth it. I froze it in containers that would be the exact portion for the recipe.

I’m linking up with Carly at Ellipsis for Monday Photo Shoot since the theme this week is Apples.

Photo Shoot Monday ~ Night Photography

This weeks photo challenge from Carly at Ellipsis is Night Photography. I’m sharing some of my Washington D.C. Moonlight Tour photos.

This can be considered dusk as well as the next photo.

Now for a flashback…

Our daughter Katie at night outside a Seattle restaurant after celebrating the completion of her degree. This next photo shows her backdrop.

Thanks Carly for the prompt.

To everyone who visits here I’d like you to know I appreciate it and the kind comments you leave. Today I’m enjoying the after effects of a relaxation massage my kids gifted me with on my 60th birthday last March. Tomorrow is the first day of summer and we’re still waiting for Spring around here. We are hoping for a good stretch of sunshine soon! Blessings!

Photobucket replaced all my photos with blurred out versions and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

Larger Than Life ~ Photo Challenge

Ruth at Scrabblequeen Knits, Too is hosting a photo challenge of “Larger than Life”

I decided to go with this copy of Michelangelo’s David in it’s Goliath proportions!

I took these shots at the Forest Lawn in Glendale, California. That’s my daughter Katie standing next to David to give you some perspective.

Thank you Ruth for the reminder of a photo I had of a hand…

Monday Photo Shoot ~ Garbage Day

Carly is the hostess for Monday Photo Shoot. Click on the logo above to see other participants or to join in after you read the rules.

The theme for today is Garbage Day. Here’s what I spotted today to share with y’all.

Driving down the hill from my house this lovely scene meets my eye. This lovely bit of abandoned garbage isn’t quite so visible in the spring and summer months when all the new growth covers it from view. In the winter we are afforded a much better view.

It was raining nonstop today so I had to capture this shot from the comfort of my car, through the passenger window with my daughter leaning way back out of view!

Sounds funny to say but I’m looking forward to seeing your garbage.

Round Robin Photo Challenge is Back!

Round Robin Photo Challenge is back for the new year today Saturday, January 16th!

The topic of the challenge is “Candlelight.”

To see more Round Robin participants visit the Round Robin Photo Challenge Blog.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

Round Robin Photo Challenge ~ In Motion

It’s time for another Round Robin Photo Challenge and this time around the theme is “in Motion”.  Click on the Robin above to get to the Round Robin Photo Challenge blog and see the participants for this challenge..

My daughter and I headed up to Canada this past Tuesday. We visited the Aquarium in Stanley Park and all my motion shots are from the Aquarium and of my daughter walking along the break wall in Stanley Park.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great Saturday!!

Round Robin Challenge ~ Looking Up!

I so enjoy the Round Robin Challenges. Today is the day for Looking Up!

It’s time for a new challenge! How about the one suggested by Robinella, “Looking Up!” Pretty simple concept, grab your cameras, point them toward the sky, and snap, snap, snap! Birds, Bees, Trees, Airplanes, Blimps, Road Signs, Billboards, Satellite Dishes, Grain Silos, the list of possible subjects is endless. On the other hand, maybe you prefer to shoot something representational of the idea of “Looking Up!” In that case, you might photograph something that inspires a motivational mood in you. Something positive that makes you feel like things are LOOKING UP. It’s up to you to interpret the meaning. Just have fun with it.

This shot was taken last week at Hollywood Beach, Channel Islands/Oxnard. The skies were so great that day!

This one is looking up through an old trellis at Heritage Square in Los Angeles.

There was a fire close to us yesterday and the helicopters were keeping a vigilant watch.

I took a stroll through a historic area of Oxnard on Thursday and took this shot looking up at Santa Clara Catholic church. I went inside and the stained glass and ceiling were amazing. I guess that would be looking up so maybe I’ll add one of those, also.

Have a great weekend all you Robins!

Round Robin Photo Challenge ~ Floating

It’s time for the Round Robin Photo Challenge..

Save the date! Saturday, May 16th will be the next time we meet, ready to show off what we find for our next challenge… “Floating!” The idea was submitted by Vicki, who authors the blog, Maraca, during one of our recent challenge pool roundups. Sounds like fun… right? Birds do it. Clouds do it. Feathers off of birds do it. Lots, and lots of things will fit the criteria for the next challenge, so grab your cameras and get to it!
