Cedar + Elm at The Lodge

Before I move on to today’s post I wanted to let you know that our home is safe and evacuation levels have stabilized but the fire is still burning.

On Friday September 5th Laura and Katie treated me to tea at Cedar + Elm at The Lodge at St. Edward Park.

There was live music and the artist had a beautiful mellow voice which made for a pleasant background of music.

When we were done with our leisurely tea we walked about the Lodge.

Lady of the Lake of Arthurian legend.

Thank you to Laura and Katie for the nice treat and lovely afternoon together. Thank you, too, to Josh and Laura for always being so hospitable to us.

We spent last Thursday on the road to travel to Bothell then spent the next three full days on the Westside. We met up with friends on Thursday and Saturday.  On Saturday morning we attended a conference with Paul Tripp on Suffering. It was such a well spent 2-1/2 hours! On Sunday evening our westside kids treated us to dinner to celebrate Greg’s birthday a couple days early. More about those events at a later date.

It has been a relief to be out of the smoke filled air in Colville for these few days. We are on the road back to Colville today and hope the air quality improves each day to come.

  1. Thanks for the update about your home and the fires that are burning out there. I will pray for the continued safety of everyone in the area. I’ll bet it was nice to get out of the smokey area for a few days. What a lovely looking tea- everything looks so pretty and charming with the tea and the property. Have a safe trip home and happy Monday!

  2. What a lovely time you had with your family on the Westside! The tea luncheon at the Lodge looks perfect…and btw, Katie did a great job of posing with the statue. 🙂 What a blessing that you were able to hear Paul Tripp! I’m happy for you. I enjoy his writing so much.

Thank you also for letting us know about how the fire situation is around you. Prayers continue.

  3. I’m glad both you and your home are safe. I’m sure it was a relief to breathe non-smoky air and I hope things continue to improve in your area. I imagine hearing Paul Tripp was a real blessing. The tea looks like a lovely spot. Safe travels home and be well!

  4. So glad to know you are safe from those awful fires. This looks like a wonderful respite and how sweet of Laura and Katie to treat you to the afternoon tea. Your photos showed what a great time you all had and all those little tea sandwiches and other yummies look delightful!

  5. Thank you for the update on the fire. I got on here just to check on you. 🙂

That lodge is gorgeous! And the tea: the food, the dishes, you three, what a fun time. Glad you had a good time ‘over here’! Where did you go for dinner? Have a wonderful day Ellen!

  6. So thankful for the update that your home is still safe and that evacuation levels have stabilized. Praying for continued protection of life and property . . .

The girls treated you royally! It looks like such a sweet and special time together! I’m sure it was a pleasure to escape the smoke for a few days.

So nice that you met up with friends, went to that conference and had dinner with the kids.
