Tea and Fiesta in Washington

After our very successful trip to Goodwill the ladies arrived at Madame Fifi’s Tea Room at Country Village in Bothell for an Afternoon Tea.

Madame Fifi (Christine) had our lovely room all ready for us. The usual after Thanksgiving Goodwill shoppers were in attendance and this year we inducted Pat (my DIL Laura’s mother) into the group.

We each chose our tea and enoyed a relaxing time.

Our sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, lemon curd, and sweets were divine! After all this loveliness one would think we didn’t need any more food on this day but…

My SIL Letty made us a fabulous Mexican dinner. She made refried beans, Mexican rice, salsa, and carnitas for us all to enjoy. YUM! Ejola it was muy bueno!!

We capped off the night with a movie all cuddled up on the couch!

I don’t know how much longer I can keep up this pace but I’m enjoying every minute of my time in Washington with my family. Have a wonderful weekend…

Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage and demanding a ransom for me to access them. I’m slowly cleaning up many of my posts where PB have added ugly black and grey boxes where my photos used to be. So frustrating!

Madam Fifi’s Tea Room in Bothell

What a lovely discovery I made today on one of my adventures, Madam Fifi’s Tea Room and Bakery located at Country Village in Bothell.

The Tea Room was decorated with all this lovely blue.

I enjoyed a half-sandwich with a salad and Earl Grey Tea. I was surprised when a plate of scones came out at the end of my meal. So surprised that I took a bite before I could photograph it. All the food I had was delicious and fresh tasting. The scones were melt in your mouth perfect with just enough cream and lemon curd. Hmmm, I wonder why I’m not losing weight!? :0)

There are lots of tea accessories for sale in the Tea Room, too.

I would recommend Madam Fifi’s Tea Room. Lana, I’d love take you here for your birthday!

Tea Rooms ~ The Gilded Rose

This weeks theme is Tea Rooms and Ventures. In April my family met at the Gilded Rose Manor Tea House in Northridge, California to celebrate my mother’s 85th birthday.

I love the fact that the Tea House street address is on Devonshire St. It sounds so English and creamy 🙂

There are several different table settings. There are 3 areas of service. The Rose Salon is the largest area,  the Atrium is a little separated from the Rose Salon, and then the Blue Willow Parlor is a private side room that accomodates up to 14 people. We were in the Blue Willow Parlor.

We had assorted scones with Devon Cream and Lemon curd and then a variety of tea sandwiches.

Our dessert platter with another fun assortment of goodies.

Although these tea pots aren’t the dainty variety that really served the purpose well, especially with these great warmers that they sat on. Our tea was the perfect temperature to the last drop of each pot. The gift shop at the Gilded Rose sells these, too.

The Gilded Rose has a nice gift shop. Besides all these fun Tea Pots and Cups they sell Tea Magazines, Cards, cake plates, baked goods, accessories. They also have a wonderful collection of loose tea for sale.

We all had a nice time here.
