…do you enjoy them?
Q: What did the digital clock say to the Grandfather Clock?
A: Look Grandpa, no hands!
Q: What did baby corn say to mama corn?
A: Where’s pop corn?
Q: How do you make an egg roll?
A: You push it.
Q: What did the football coach say to the broken vending machine?
A: Give me my quarterback!
Q: What did the lawyer name his daughter?
A: Sue…
Don’t worry…I’m done with the corny jokes. I took all these photos while waiting in the border line-up at the Aldergrove crossing in Lynden, Washington.
OK, one more funny thing. My sister Lana calls me when she sees bumper stickers that make her laugh. She just called me to read a bumper sticker on the car in front of her in traffic. It reads: “Do you follow Jesus this close?” Love it. That would make you think.
My mom is still having her ups and downs and food requests. She mentioned she’d enjoy some fried chicken. My sister Lana decided to drive to the place where my parents first experienced fried chicken to pick some up for them, Knott’s Berry Farm. She ordered the whole meal plus a Boysenberry Pie for dessert. I’m hoping to see a photo soon of them enjoying the meal. I do not need to wish any further. This photo just popped up on Facebook!!
Katie and Andrew are enjoying their bittersweet days here before they are separated for 6 to 7 months. They’ve planned some fun things with family and friends the rest of the week. When God puts our Andrew on your mind please pray for his safety and for the loneliness both he and Katie will be experiencing…Thank you.
The last days of August are ticking away! What do you have going?
My family has a young man who just went to Aphghanistan…and when he is on my heart, your Andrew and Katie will be in my offered up prayers!
I’ll put Katie and Andrew on my prayer board. I know I don’t have a clue what that life style is like. All day this hymn has been swirling through my brain…..”grace, grace, God’s grace”….breathe out, be still, the tomb is empty, He is enough…that’s my mantra for everything right now. I love that your parents are enjoying life, still living and experiencing joys!
I like your corny jokes. I like seeing your mom and pictures of what she likes to eat and how your siblings are finding joy in serving her. I truly want to pray for Andrew and Katie and especially for Andrew’s safety and their loneliness during the winter ahead. I was thinking they should have a prayer card in his line of work. I wonder if there is such a thing. I’ll use their wedding photo…
Do I know corny jokes? Are you kidding me? Grandsons are full of’em and now I’ll have a few to share back. Thank you!
Gotta grin at you mom getting her wish.
Yes, I will certainly pray for Andrew and Katie. Been there, done that, know what a challenge it is.
Love corny jokes. Crazy about Knotts Berry Farm chicken.
A friend of ours just got back from 9 months in Afghanistan. He’s an Army Bkackhawk pilot, he and 300 others came back safely to Savannah GA. The local news filmed him hugging his 4,3 and 2 year olds. My tears flowed.
Andrew will take the prayer space that was formerly held by our now home safe friend Luke. (He was our son’s best friend in childhood…)
And praying that this Syria situation will be avoided.
Jill, We’re really hoping he isn’t switched to duty with this whole Syria mess that will also involve gas masks! Ugh.
Ellen, I actually REALLY love those jokes :o) Will pray for Andrew. Actually, a friend’s husband just left for deployment. I will write and check on her as soon as I am done posting this comment. Blessings to you and yours.
Funny jokes Ellen! So cute. I too will be holding Andrew and Katie in my prayers. I can’t even imagine what this would be like …. the risk and the separation! You mom …. well she’s such a treasure and she looks content and happy!
Ellen, your pictures are great, and I can’t wait to share some of your jokes with the grands! Your Mom looks good, and it looks like she’s enjoying her meal. I’ll add Katie and Andrew to my prayers. God bless them both. laurie
I read some corny jokes today and I think if I shared those with my kids, they would think I was corny…but why not laugh. And your mom hangs on….interesting eh?
I waved over the waters as we passed you through the Whidbey Island Route, but was reminded of your birthday down on the Chuckanut drive.
The jokes cracked me up and I gotta get me one of them license plates. Sweet of Lana to grant your Mom’s wish. I love fried chicken. I’ll remember to pray for Katie and Andrew
I laugh at corny jokes…and then forget them the next moment. But your bumper sticker is priceless. I’ll try to remember that one. And yes, I’ll pray for your Andrew as he is brought to mind….for his safety. And also for Katie…all on her own.
These past few weeks we’ve had our little grandkids telling us knock knock jokes….we laughed..funny or not:) Knott’s Berry Farm fried chicken…that brought a smile and reminder that each day is precious. And for your dear Katie and Andrew…I sure will pray for safety and also for them as they are separated.
