This is for you Cori G! You mentioned the Blethering Place and I hunted down an old postcard from the 90’s that I’ve had since eating there on a trip to Victoria. The back of the postcard reads…You can find this charming “Touch of Britain” nestled in the heart of beautiful Oak Bay, only minutes from downtown Victoria.
“Blethering,” according to Oxford, is Scottish for voluble, senseless talking.
I’ve made reservations on the Anacortes Ferry to travel to Vancouver Island on Tuesday and reservations on the Black Ball Ferry to travel back to the U.S. on Tuesday evening. Again we are packing it all into one day! Dear, Katie and I are setting out on this adventure. We plan to stop at Butchart Gardens on our way to Victoria. It will be interesting to see what we can take in and if we make it to the Kitsap Ferry Terminal for the last sailing to Edmonds at 11:10 PM.
Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.
Hi Ellen, Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and leaving a comment! For me, it’s never too hot for tea, BUT, I do have to say that at 100 degrees, I may well opt for iced tea! Interestingly enough, we’re having a cooling spell, while your area is getting our heat! It seems that you can’t count on the weather to plan a barbeque OR a tea! Love your website – I’ll visit again!
Lucky you. Have a wonderful time!
So have I been misspelling “blithering” all these years?
have fun!
Sounds like a wonderful day to me! A full one too! Have a great time!
Hi Ellen B.,
Thanks for the post!!! I love the card with all the teddies taking tea…so darling!!!!
I’m so sorry I didn’t get over here sooner, but our internet service has been down since yesterday. I called to find out what was going on and I was redirected to some lovely Indians in India. Can’t understand the accents for anything ;-(.
So, you’re going this Tuesday? Are you stopping over at any of the islands? You are going to be three tired people by the time you’re done, but I can’t wait to see your pictures!!!!
xoxo Cori G.
That will be a beautiful ferry ride. . .and the gardens will be spectacular this time of year. .
Enjoy. .
