Meet My New BFF’s!!

These are my new Best Friends Forever!

All because of this…

History making and record breaking temperatures in Western Washington. And yes that dial is above the 100 degree mark.

I’m headed out today to hopefully buy an inflatable bed so that I can sleep in the basement tonight where it is at least 15 degrees cooler then the rest of the house. My bedroom is on the 2nd level (3rd level if you count the basement). It gets quite toasty up there.

Here’s something from this week that I find pretty funny…

Verizon is putting Fios in our neighborhood. Our yard is the lucky yard where these boxes have lived and the new fios one gets to live. After putting in the new equiptment the nice worker bees replaced my dead grass with fresh new green grass. This morning the water truck pulled up and they watered that new grass. Just made me chuckle…

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. Ha! That grass shot makes me laugh… Our lawn looks more like the rest of your lawn… =) Hearing you on staying cool… Glad that Sarah has a kiddie pool!

  2. Made me laugh!
Skip the blow up mattress and get those new roll up foam ones. They are amazing and allow for quick set up and take down. I’m planning on basement sleeping in August….

  3. ohhhhh..yes it is hot…miserable out there..I have air…but at some point it is not so great….so we have tons of fans going tooooo….I am not a hot weather girl AT ALL….summer is my least favorite season….
    Hope you find that bed….
that strip of green grass is funny, considering our weather etc…
    What is FIOS?

  4. Oh my, Ellen—I would never have guessed that Washington would reach such high temperatures! Oddly, it’s 54 degrees today here at our Colorado altitude of 74000 ft. Wanna come over?

Please don’t send that heat eastward, but I hope you get some cooling breezes soon!

  5. Our summer has been so very cool that we’ve only been able to swim one time so far this year… the kids are bereft, but I am positively gleeful (secretly gleeful however)

Don’t hate me because I’m cool;)

  6. well I don’t miss that weather! lol when I left kansas those few years back it was 119 out and i burnt my hands on the steering wheel… ya.. i like my cold canada lol it’s maybe 75 here today lol

  7. Oh I love your new BFF. Ellen B.!
I think I need to go purchase my own. WHAT IS UP WITH THIS HEAT!!!!!!!
It’s only 82 today in Anaslime.

    xoxo Cori G.

PS. Don’t hug those new BFF.

  8. Some one needs to tell them they miss a few spots on the grass. LOL. That is too funny!

Wow, it is smoking hot where you are. I hope we don’t get that heat

  9. Too Funny. Yes, they’ll only water what is there territory. Looks like the guy who washed my windows last week. He did not include the vinyl trim….Oh well.

  10. Oh good, you haven’t melted away! :o) The part about your lawn is so funny — I hope the rest of your lawn isn’t jealous of those patches that are getting the royal treatment.

  11. I’ve found when it’s really hot keeping a glass of ice water…or sweet iced tea righ next to me will keep me a lot cooler!

gotta love fans!…and it’s never too late to decide to be a nudist you know.

  12. Poor Ellen and all of Seattle. We feel your pain. Actually not right now but we remember those days of over 100 when we were back in Sacramento. We are sitting in a Starbucks at South Lake Tahoe.
