Tablescape Thursday ~ Pink Quilt

Tablescape Thursday is upon us. Please visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch to see lots of tables set for your pleasure.

This table is from my condo in Southern California. I used a Shabby Chic quilt for the tablecloth originally from Target that I purchased at Goodwill.

Everything on this table again is from Goodwill except for the wired cloche and the flowered napkins.

I’m so glad I had this post in my archives because it has been waaayyyy to Hot Hot Hot here in the great Northwest to get creative with a tablescape or exert the energy to set the table. I just looked at my outdoor thermometer and it registers at 100! It’s official now Western Washington has set history at having the hottest temps ever on record. The latest weather for my area is 103.6! Hope you are cooler where you are.

Photobucket is holding all my photos that I stored on their site from 2007-2015 hostage replacing them with ugly grey and black boxes and asking for a large ransom to retrieve them. It is a slow process to go through all my posts deleting the ugly boxes.

  1. What a cheery cozy table! I’ve never considered a quilt as a tablecloth, but it works really well here. No, it’s not 100 down here (more like low 80s), but my office is kept at a chilly 68 or so and I’m wearing cordoroy pants and a wool sweater to keep warm…. that is, until the drive home 😦

  2. Ellen, your table is soooo pretty! I love the quilt! The centerpiece is so darling with the birdhouse and the pretty little welcome pillow! Now I have to tell you, I love your pink glasses! I just recently found 4 of the same ones in Salvation Army up in the SF Peninsula! I love the pink plates over the green square chargers. Pink and green complement so well!

  3. This is so sweet! So vintage looking and so inviting. Your dishes are the perfect shade of pink!

‘Hope you get some relief from the heat!
    All the best,

  4. Ellen, Wonderful combination of colors ~ soothing and refreshing!

(I need it ~ my area of Oregon registered 108 degrees this afternoon *thud*), thankfully in my forested area it was a few degrees cooler.) Let’s hope there is relief soon ~ try to stay cool! 🙂

  5. What a beautiful table and no one would EVER guess these beauties came from Goodwill…well, except for us “girls” that love shopping there. WE know what good things can be found !!!
Just beautiful !! and yes, here in West Texas, it is H.O.T.

  6. Ellen, this is so pretty! I love the color combination of pink and green. The shabby chic quilt is perfect as a tablecloth! I especially like the pillow.

  7. This is beautiful! Love the color combination! You are making me want to go to Goodwill now!

Stay cool! Washington is hotter than we are here in Florida!

  8. What a beautiful table. And I love that you found it all at GW! That color of pink is really pretty. I just heard on the news that what makes the heat in the NW so bad is that a lot of people there don’t have air conditioning because it’s just never gets hot like that. Seems like the weather is all turned around. I live in Ohio and we can have really bad hot spells but this summer has been really nice with no 90 degree temps. Well, stay cool where ever you can. Go shopping!

  9. I saw the news about your record temperatures on the news!! Stay in; stay cool! I think every body keeps their good stuff here–there’s never anything at our thrift store!

  10. I love your table! It’s so cheery! Any it’s mostly from Goodwill? Way to go, my friend!

  11. Lovely! Your table is refreshing and cool…unlike the weather. The color is so restful…

Stay cool! (A misting spray bottle kept in the refrigerator does wonders!)

  12. Hi Ellen,
I just love pink and green. Your table is as cute as it can be. Love the shabby chic and the look of the double napkins. Your china is layered so beautifully.
    Have a great day.

  13. Hi Ellen…

What a beautiful table, my friend!!! I just love the idea of using that pretty pink rose quilt…it’s lovely!!! Love those pretty pink dishes too!!! Beautifully done…so sweet and romantic!!!

Girl, I’m praying for ya’ll with the heat wave…been watching the weather! Can you believe it…here in Colorado we are really having a “fluke” kind of weather too…yesterday it only got up to 68 degrees and today it will only get up to 72! It was actually cold here when I got up this morning…really weird for the end of July! Wonder what’s up with our weather? Well stay cool, my friend and thank you for sharing your beautiful tablescape with us today!!!

    Have a wonderfully sweet day!

  14. Hi Ellen,
This is certainly a nice, fresh, cool-looking tablescape!
I really like the way you used the vintage quilt as a tablecloth, and your GW finds are amazing … congratulations! Is the silverware from there as well? I’ve purchased some rather special things at my local GW, but have never had much luck finding nice flatware.

Hope the weather improves for you soon!
    bye for now,
    Bill

  15. We were having weather over 100 every day, but now thankfully it’s been raining and cooled off some. So I feel for ya! This is such a pretty tablescape. Enchanting with the tablecloth and sweet dishes. Did you even get the pillow at GW? I can’t seem to find anything there. Maybe I’m going at the wrong time of day or something. But you got some great deals! Try to stay cool!

  16. oh…..I just love this look…my taste, totally…
and yes…to hot to even move ……yikes…
makes me glad I KNOW I am going to Heaven.

  17. Love that your costs were down for such a pretty table setting! I am not a “happy chappy”, since my local Walmarts has decided to stop selling fabrics! Unless I like driving an hour away now, it looks like I will be purchasing a great deal of bed sheets for my fabric needs! I have often found that is the cheaper route to go anyways!… especially when making curtains and tablecloths!! Your colors are beautiful and I enjoyed my stop here today!… By the way, my son did his 5th-grade State Report on the state of Washington, years ago! (I won’t bring up HOW MANY!).. I do hope you find some relief from those hot temps soon! I heard Oklahoma was having similar temps there, if not hotter actually! Here in the “great northeast” we are only averaging 80’s. Here, we WISH we could have a little more summer; but it flies by MUCH too fast, and we start dreading the snow and the ice again! Oh well.. Keep cool, as best you can! ~tina

  18. I love your shabby chic tablescape. I’ve heard about the hot temps in the Northwest. Try to stay cool. Thanks for visiting my blog & leaving me a comment.

  19. Very cute, very festive table, Ellen! I love this! 🙂 And if that cute pillow goes missing, you need not look far. Oh, I’m in love! The quilt makes the perfect cloth, too. Just a super job and so pretty in pink!

    Happy Tablescape Thursday!

    XO,

    Sheila 🙂
