The Bride & Groom…

I was considering calling this post the Long & Short of it or the Tall and Short of it…

IMGP0746I had more glimpses of Caleb before the wedding than Marie. She was being kept as hidden as possible so Caleb would see her for the first time as she walked down the aisle. This is Caleb with his brothers, Timothy, Levi, and Joseph.

Caleb and Levi.

Caleb & Marie3Caleb is a bow tie kind of guy. My pop (Caleb’s grandfather) wore a bow tie in his wedding photos. I found this photo of my pop (Caleb’s dzeda) sporting his bow tie in a photo with his brother in law (my uncle Paul).

IMGP0832I loved this tender moment when Caleb reached over to move away a wisp of hair from Marie’s eyes.

IMGP0838Caleb lifted Marie up to give her the “kiss”.

IMGP0918Caleb and Marie stood at the beginning of the buffet line to hand out plates to their guests. What a great gesture of appreciation of their guests.

It was a fun time of celebrating Caleb and Marie and being able to see how much their family and friends appreciate them as a couple. There were 20 attendants in the ceremony. What’s the most attendants you’ve seen at a wedding?

FFF ~ The Needle & The Dress…

Time to look back and find 5 favorites from the past week. If you want to join in visit Susanne at Living to Tell the Story and sign in with your link.

The Space Needle, Wedding Dress and the family time around them were my favorites from this past week.

1. On Saturday Katie and I traveled to the Seattle Center for a wedding show. The most famous landmark in the Northwest is located at the Seattle Center. It was a beautiful day to walk around and get some good shots of the Space Needle.

2. On Wednesday Dear, Katie and I went to Katie’s first wedding dress fitting. There were needles and pins involved here, too. This was Dear’s first time to see the dress on Katie and he wholeheartedly approved of the gown. Good thing since it’s his hard earned cash that payed for it.

3. After the fitting we went to Z Tejas for a bite to eat before we headed across Lake Washington to a Wedding Open House at the Space Needle. This time we got to see it up close and personal in the evening.

4. We got some great VIP attention and enjoyed appetizers and drinks on the house while we considered the space for a possible wedding venue.

There wasn’t a bad view in the house.

5. This was my very first time up in the Space Needle. It also is on my 60 things to do in my 60th year. So I’m on my way in completing my 60. I’m still working on the list and as soon as I complete it I’ll share it. We completed the evening by going up to the observation deck and checking out the 360 degree view of Seattle.

What were the favorites from your past week?

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

Something Borrowed, Something Blue…

Happy Mosaic and Blue Monday to you! Visit Mary at Little Red House and Sally at Smiling Sally to join in the fun.

On Saturday we had our first and last wedding dress shopping debut for Katie. She chose the 8th dress she tried on for her special day. We all agreed it was the one. She looked stunning in 7 out of the 8 dresses she tried on. On Monday the dress will be ordered. Our experience at Bellevue Bridal Boutique was great and we would recommend the shop and staff to anyone in Western Washington looking for a dress. We don’t have a date for the wedding because Katie is marrying a Marine who is in the middle of his training. We hope to have a better idea of when the wedding can take place by December. Until then we are getting all our best choices for venues etc. organized so we can hit the ground running when the date is set.

After we ordered the dress my sister Lana (Aunt Lana) treated Katie, Laura and I to a wonderful dinner at Ruth Chris in Bellevue.

If any of you are wondering about the blue, it’s all in the jeans!!
