Outdoor Wednesday ~ Walk with Willow…

It’s almost time to join in on Outdoor Wednesday. Susan at A Southern DayDreamer is our hostess for this weekly event. My outdoor photos were taken on a walk with my bloggy friend Willow in her neighborhood. These were taken on Monday of this week in Southern California.

This was a day that we spotted deer again. After uploading this photo I was surprised at how Fall like the colors were.

Same hour different scenery with more Spring like colors.

Don’t forget to look up. I love this view of the tree against the blue sky!

Friday’s Fave Five ~ Family & Spring…

Oh these Friday’s come so quickly when you’re living life! My favorites this week are leftovers from our time in Seattle. We came home to Southern California Sunday evening after a 3 hour delay due to a dent in a door on our original plane…We then got to fly on the Tinkerbell plane so we all chanted We Believe and clapped and then when the plane finally took off successfully we clapped louder! But this is about favorites….

Absolutely at the very top of my favorites is time spent with our family. Happy, happy, joy, joy!

Signs of Spring popping out all over. Beautiful apple and pear blossoms, clematis blooms, and anything pretty in pink that is blooming. Mama and Daddy duck walking over for a Spring visit…

Shopping at my favorite Goodwill stores in the state of Washington…where I always seem to find sweet treasures!  The baking dish is one of my new purchases.

Having the time to hear my son Dan’s keen sense of humor. He can really make me laugh.

Looking forward to spending a few days with our kids and Dear’s side of the family at our niece’s wedding in Cancun next weekend. I won’t be blogging for Fave Fives next weekend or blogging in general because we’ll be in Cancun.

Bonus Fave!: Getting the news that our son Josh will be down to visit us soon and that we’ll all be going to a Sounders/Chivas soccer game here in Southern California. Ole, ole, ole , ole!!

WFW ~ 2 Timothy 4: 1-5

2 Timothy 4:1-5 (English Standard Version)

2 Timothy 4

Preach the Word

1 I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. 3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 4and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. 5As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

Outdoor Wednesday ~ Spring in Washington

Welcome to another Outdoor Wednesday hosted by Susan at A Southern DayDreamer. My Outdoor photos this week were all taken in the Puget Sound Area of Washington. I’m here till Sunday enjoying my kids and home. We fly back to Southern Cali on Sunday.

One of our most recognizable landmarks the Space Needle. The rest of the photos are from my yard to show you what’s blooming and budding here in Western Washington.

Tablescape Thursday ~ Sparkly Spring

It’s time for more Tablescapes from around the Bloggy World. Susan at Between Naps on the Porch is our hostess for this weekly event. This week I’m putting together some Garage sale  and Thrift store finds to create a sparkly table.

I got the 7 crystal looking tea light holders for $1.00. The silver candle holders with hanging crystals were $5.00 for both.

The Cake plate was purchased at the Thrift store for $5.00 because the base was separated from the Plate. Dear fixed it for me.

The plates are from HomeGoods at $2.00 each. The glasses are from Goodwill.

I love these little silver teapot napkin rings. I have 7 of them and I forgot what I paid at Goodwill. The vintage handkerchiefs that I layered with the napkins were $2.00 each.

To see more Tablescapes or to join in visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. As usual my Thursday post is up on Wednesday so don’t click till later or tomorrow. Are you confused yet?  I hope not. Have a wonderful evening and fabulous Thursday (tomorrow)…

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, Alone

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, Alone

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, alone,
Can turn our hearts from sin;
His power alone can sanctify
And keep us pure within.

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, alone
Can deeper love inspire;
His power alone within our souls
Can light the sacred fire.

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, can bring
The gifts we seek in prayer;
His voice can words of comfort speak,
And still each wave of care.

Thy Holy Spirit, Lord, can give
The grace we need this hour;
And while we wait, O Spirit, come
In sanctifying power.

Words: Fanny Crosby, 1885; some hymnals show the author as Fanny’s pseudonym, Henrietta Blair. The hymnal I found this hymn in did show the author as Henrietta Blair.

I added the photo of the stream with running water after our sermon this morning about the Holy Spirit.

John 7:37-39 ~ On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’ ” Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Welcome Spring!

Ellen b. has been busy running here and there with her daughter Katie while she is visiting us in Southern California from Seattle. On Saturday we will be on the road for several hours to attend a wedding of Katie’s good friend in San Bernardino County. We are meeting my brother and SIL in Redlands for lunch before the 3:00 wedding. I attended the University of Redlands for my freshman year and I hope we can get in a quick drive by to see what the campus looks like today. I attended there in 1968-69. Wow 40 years ago!! I’m not participating in any of my regular weekly memes until Katie leaves because I do not have time to return comments and that really makes me feel bad.

Hope that Spring is showing much promise to you all! Blessings…

Tablescape Tuesday ~ Simple Spring

It might not be Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere but it is in the Southern Hemisphere so here is a simple Spring tablescape I created for St. Patrick’s Day.

For more Tablescapes visit Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.

The Butterfly

I was so happy that a butterfly stayed still long enough on my walk yesterday with Willow so that I could get a photograph. This is my first butterfly shot. I’d love to be able to get closer to one to get a clearer shot sometime. I had to zoom in fearing it would flutter away if I got too close. Dear tells me this is a Swallowtail butterfly, smarty pants!

Photobucket is holding all my photos I stored with them from 2007-2015 hostage. They have blacked out all those photos on my blog posts. OH BOTHER! I’m slowly cleaning up my posts.
