Looking back to Mother’s Day weekend and Addy’s dance recital with the Great Potato play. She had the part of one of the leprechauns. None of us got good photos of her in costume but her mama saved the day after the fact. The costume was pulled out of storage at the dance studio and Addy played the part in the still photos!

Thank you, Jamie and Addy, for filling in the gaps.

Towards the end of the month Addy and JJ attended a Shakespeare in the park event.

Throughout the month of May several deer came through our acreage looking for tasty nibbles of this and that. When they start nibbling on the clematis, I shoo them away.

June has started sunny and warm on the Westside of our state and on our side of the state, too. Josh and Laura, loyal fans at the Sunday afternoon Sounders Soccer game.

Our Colville ‘kids’ working hard in the garden and in the background you’ll see the lawn being mowed all on the first day of June 2025.

I tried to catch the aurora borealis on Sunday night but it wasn’t the right time. If I would have stayed up till 2am on Monday I might have seen some better color but I was fast asleep while the lights danced in the sky.
Hello,
Lovely photos of Addy and your family. The deer are a great sight, I always love to see them.
The night sky is beautiful. Take care, have a great day!
Thank you, Eileen. Happy June to you!
…and I thought that I had a deer problem!
Seeing the Aurora Borealis is on my bucket list. Last year, it was actually visible in Alabama but I missed it. I got up and went outside in the middle of the night . . .just not at the right moment! Those deer are so beautiful!
Lisa, these latest chances sound like they might have gone all the way south to you, too. Thanks for stopping by.
Addy makes an excellent leprechaun ! How lovely to have deer visiting but I can imagine the plants they like to munch. B x
Barbara, we don’t spend money on plants the deer really enjoy like hydrangea. They do not bother the peonies and that makes me happy.
I’m so glad that Addy gets to do the Irish dance. She’s adorable…and how very fun that she and JJ got to attend a Shakespeare in the Park event. That sounds like so much fun!
Our temps are warming up here, too. We need them though because it will help to dry out the ground from all of the rain we’ve been blessed with.
Have a wonderful week, my friend.
Dianna, thank you for visiting and your comment. Hope your week is going well!
Addy looked adorable as a leprechaun! The deer have also been eating my shrubs as usual, I did not buy flowers to plant this year, as I was disappomted they ate all the ones I planted last year. Instead, I saved marigold seeds and planted them this year so if the deer eat them I won’t see $$$ going down the drain. WE have been having a lot of rain and cool temperatures. Less wildfire danger right now because of that, so I’m not complaining 😉
Pat, it’s good to know which plants might be deer resistant. Glad your fire danger is down.
I love to watch the deer roam around the property.
Today we had a mamma and her baby.
Addy looks incredibly cute in her photos, Jaimie too. Fun to see everyone enjoying themselves. How wonderful to see deer in your garden! My sister-in-law’s garden didn’t fare too well recently. A rabbit came along and ate most of her veggies, though she did share a photo of a salad made out of 1 snow pea, two lettuce leaves and three cherry tomatoes.
Thank you, Denise for your comment here and your visit. Oye, that is a bummer about your sister-in-law’s garden. All that hard work ending up in that rabbit!
Wow, those deer are loving your garden! And they leave your peonies alone? That’s amazing. Though you couldn’t photograph the aurora borealis, that’s a lovely night sky photo.
Good morning Ann, Yes, the deer seem to like clematis but they leave the peonies alone. Thank you for stopping by and for
the name of the clematis.
Such cute photos of the kids. How wonderful to see those deer. Nice photos of them. I think the photo you captured of the aurora borealis is very pretty. Yes, I read that it would be best at 2am. I was telling my daughter to look because they showed that Montana would be getting some but she didn’t want to stay up.
