Co-op Cultural Day

The week leading up to Easter our Grands Co-op had a cultural day with presentations from each family. I was invited to be part of that presentation since their country was Russia. It was good to be at Co-Op the whole day and see and hear from all the family units. Several families presented interesting facts about their countries that were new to me. In between presentations there were breaks and a lunchtime potluck with dishes from all the countries/cultures represented. Our DIL served Piroshky and Perog.

It was a full Thursday for everyone.

This is a new puzzle I completed before Easter forgetting to take a photo when it was finished. It is one from the collection of The Country Diary of An Edwardian Lady. There was so much going on between Addy’s Birthday weekend and Easter weekend!

Are you anywhere in the clear path of the Total Eclipse today?

Make sure you protect your eyes! We wore these for the 2017 Solar Eclipse.

Have a great week everyone!

  1. How fun to participate in cultural day! One your grands won’t forget. I enjoy puzzles but just don’t have the space right now.
Yes, I’m in missouri, right in the path of the eclipse. People are swarming to our area. Have a blessed day!

  2. What a blessing that you were invited to be a part of the Grands Co-Op presentation! Your daughter-in-law did a fantastic job with the food she shared. Are the Piroshky the ones that you pictured the women folk in your family making?

  3. How nice to be a part of the cultural day. Sounds lovely.

We had glasses that the library handed out for us to watch the eclipse.

It was really cool to watch. Luckily we had a nice sunny day for it.

  4. How lovely to be included in your grands culture day. Looks very informative and yummy as well. I love your puzzle. I’m a big fan of Edith Holden. We were in the path of the eclipse but not totality. It became darker around 3 and by 4 was bright again. We watched through a pin hole set up. 5. Wow – what a great project for everyone – learning about your family history with food and all! Did you see the eclipse today – so amazing!! That puzzle looks crazy hard but very beautiful. Have fun …

  6. Great idea for the school to hold a cultural day– learning opportunities for kids, parents and grandparents together. And the food! Lucky people. ….. In our other life, I kept the book “Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady” on a coffee table and loved looking through it often. I think my daughter has it now (I hope, because now I want to read it again when we get home!) I’m sure I would have wished your completed puzzle were a picture to hang! The Eclipse wasn’t very exciting in these parts… we were blessed with the full experience of 2017 at its best (in Oregon of course).

    • Hi Sallie, We could only see 20% of the eclipse where we live. It was fun to see some areas where the eclipse was full and to see the darkening and hear the cheering. Hope you can get your hands on that book. 🙂
