Skagit Valley Barns

All these views from the Skagit Valley in Washington State were taken from Wiley Rd. and Mann Rd. and at the Reserve at Fir Island.

I’d like to know the story behind this decoration on this out building.

At the end of Mann Rd. from the reserve heading back to Interstate 5 you could see Fir-Conway Lutheran Church on Fir Island Dr.

I’ll be away from the computer for most of Friday. Hope you all have a good weekend. Time will tell if I can link up to The Barn Collective with Tom on Sunday. Happy First weekend of summer!

  1. Mmmmmmm….love old barns! When we used to drive up to Sabetha, KS to the farm to visit my paternal grandparents, there were tons of them. It’s all changed now. Lots of very modern structures. 😒

  2. These wonderful old barns look like they have some interesting stories to tell! Love the barnyard with the tractor and the plane! I guess you have to keep all your toys in one place! 🙂 What a beautiful little church. xx Karen

  3. I’d like to know the story behind the art as well…some nice art for sure! You have an eye for these rustic scenes…Hope that you’ll have no troubles getting back to us when you want to…

  4. Your photos of this place make me want to know more, not only about the decoration on the barn, but about the community that lives there. I like the photo of the church. It must be a great place for wildlife.

  5. …Ellen, these barns have been through many a rainy Washington season and they are showing their age. The white country church in lovely. Thanks for taking a break from holding cutie pie, you are a lucky lady! Stop back again when you can.

  6. Me, too, on wanting the story behind that decoration….and I would like to know who the Mann Rd is named after…there is a Mann Rd. over at Indianapolis. If I remember, going to do some research. Love the barns you chose to share.
