I’m heading back over the Cascades to Eastern Washington and our son Dan’s land for my one previously posted Note Card for Vee’s Party. This was taken Fall, 2012.
These next two photos are from Jolly old England from September of this year that I haven’t gotten around to posting yet.
This last one is from this past Sunday in West Seattle of our daughter Katie…
It’s been the story of my life this year but it’s fall and I haven’t pulled any fall/Thanksgiving bins out yet. Time will tell if I do. Seasonal decorating has been out the window all this year. That is O.K. It really is best for me to go with the flow and accept the events of our lives and interruptions as they come. Reminds me of that song from the 50’s that Doris Day sang…

They are all lovely and I know which one is your favorite. That first one is so quintessentially autumn that I’m pretty sure that it’s New England. =D And the beautiful pictures of England are always a pleasure to see. They make me want to take a walk through a meadow and through a gate. I’ll not be climbing that fence, though! Thanks for participating when it’s so busy there. I hope that you just have time to relax and putter. If that means putting out autumn…great and, if it doesn’t, que sera sera! I’d prefer to think of you with your feet up, reading a book, and sipping on tea.
the first shot of your son’s land is spectacular. i enjoyed the England shots and your daughter is lovely, as is the beautiful fall color behind her. wonderful series … calming!

All your note cards are lovely, but I do love the first photo with the golden glow of the tall tree.

These are beautiful photos for notecards Ellen. I like that old Doris Day song and can still hear my mother singing it when I was a young girl. Sometimes life just gets too busy doesn’t it? Blessings, Pamela
Beautiful photos, Ellen! I have a couple of mums out … made a few small centrepieces from coloured leaves on our bushes in our back yard . . . added some candles and that’s it. Nothing to put into bins later, just the trash. Que sera, sera is good.
Love the first shot with the red barn and the golden glow! And Katie takes a sweet picture – as always! As far as decorating goes – I have some pumpkins on my outdoor steps and some gourds in a horn of plenty – and 3 little pumpkins on my table with a ribbon and some beads – saw it online and copied. very easy!

What lovely pictures. The light in the first photo of autumn in New England is so soft and pretty. England has wonderful photo ops and I’m so glad to see you included some here. I’ve been enjoying your photos of your visit there. Your daughter is beautiful – I’ll bet that’s your favorite photo of the lot.
Lovely! The place Dan now calls home is most beautiful at this time of year. Is the bright yellow tree not an evergreen? I didn’t know they turned yellow.
Judy, This is a Western Larch and I found it interesting that it changes color, too. Here’s some info on it…
The largest of the nine larch or tamarack species growing in the Pacific Northwest, the western has pale green foliage, a rather “feathery” graceful arrangement of branches, and an open crown. Brilliant yellow in late fall, the needles drop in November. In fact, this species is one of only two coniferous species that sheds its needles every fall. Its thick bark is reddish-brown in color and features elongated scale plates.”
