Happy to Say…

…our power never went out and is still on during this latest tree limb snapping storm! I’m linking up with Susanne at Living to Tell the Story with my favorite blessings of the week!

1. Having all our kids together under our roof for a few days celebrating birthdays and just being together.

2. Dan getting back over Snoqualmie Pass safe and sound before the storms hit. We really have been socked with some snow and ice!

3. Katie and Andrew making it from Seattle to Salt Lake City safely on snowy and icy roads. It took them 2 days to get there. They were so happy whenever they hit some dry miles on the highway.

4. The fact that Dear was able to work from home this week instead of driving the treacherous roads off our hill to the park and ride.

5. So thankful to God for all our kids and kids in law who get along so well and love each other. Priceless!

We are pretty sure we have officially hit the foot mark for our snow levels. This is the most snow we’ve ever experienced at this old house!

I’ll post the rest of my snow shots tomorrow.

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods.

  1. We had a foot of snow overnight and woke to bright blue skies. I get the sense that a foot of snow here is not nearly as much as a foot of snow there. All those mountain passes and hills! So glad that everyone is safe and accounted for and that your power is back on. It’s awfully tough to enjoy a cozy snow day without it!

  2. All is well here, if cold and snowy. Freezing rain is predicted for later today.
Lovely to think of you with all your children under your roof – wonderful feeling!

  3. Wow, that’s a lot of snow. All the kids home…priceless. I’m enjoying your snow pictures since we haven’t had any moisture yet this winter. The below 0 wind chills are killing me. We’ve been bouncing up and down a lot this winter….makes it really hard to get used to the cold when it does come, cause then we bounce back up to the 60’s. There is a possibility the Seattle area may be chosen this summer for a family reunion. We need to find some place cooler and low altitude for the group. I’ll have to email you to get tips if that is the destination they choose. It’s been so long since I’ve been up there but I’m hoping they pick Seattle. It’s there or Mackinaw Island in Michigan. Oh and I asked my brother about Alaska cruises. He felt like your parents would be fine. They recommended New Holland cruiseline. They’ve done some others and liked New Holland the best so far. They LOVED their two Alaska cruises. They went in the summer and were really cold still….breezes coming off the water. But they said it was beautiful.

  4. What a nice looking family! It’s great you all could be together and that everyone gets along so well. That is a true blessing!

It’s also a blessing when you can stay home when there’s a foot of snow on the ground. Enjoy these cozy winter times.

  5. You look like one, big, happy family! Glad you’ve been able to enjoy the snowfall. Power outages can be fun…..for a little while. (a very little while)

    That’s some serious snow!

  6. so glad you had all your kids home. that is always fun. glad, too, that your power stayed on. and how wonderful that your hubby was able to work from home. That would be a favourite!!

  7. The snow pictures are so lovely. So glad your hubby was able to work from home and that everyone was safe whenever they had to drive. It is a blessings that your family members get along so well with one another.

  8. Wow, you guys are really getting it aren’t you? Sure makes for pretty pictures though.

What a blessing that your family is to each other. Does a mother’s heart good!
