This little replica of Anne Hathaway’s Cottage in Stratford-on-Avon was built at the Dallas Arboretum. The roof is an authentic roof thatched by Irishman William Cahill. We were in Dallas, Texas last weekend and got the chance to stroll through the beautiful grounds of the Arboretum.
Photobucket is holding all my photos from 2007-2015 hostage and they have blacked them all out. Iβm slowly working at restoring my posts without their help. Such a tiresome bother!

That cottage is gorgeous! Like a fairy-tale π I want to live there!
Happy photo hunting and have a great weekend!
Beautiful shots of the replica of the cottage. There is something so appealing to me about cottages of that style. I went to Stratford-on-Avon when I was in England for a summer when I was a teenager. The only thing I really remember about the short side trip we took to Stratford-on-Avon was seeing a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream while we were there. I guess I can be forgiven my sketchy memories since it was 34 years ago.
That is such a beautiful cottage. It almost looks like a gingerbread house! Have a great weekend
Great Photos of a very pretty place. I know you enjoyed that trip!!

Dallas, Texas?! Who woulda thunk!! That is just so cute! I love it.
Don’t we all dream of houses like Anne’s! I think so! The photos are so beautiful and clear! I’m glad you were able to take your trip to Dalles and bring it all home to share with us!!
Oh my goodness that is just so cute! I thought for sure that this photo was taken somewhere in your travels in Great Britain.
How sweet is that! A cottage tucked in a lovely shaded spot. I want one!

That looks so sweet, but I went to the real Anne Hathaway’s cottage in Stratford-Upon-Avon and it’s quite a bit bigger than that looks. But the setting is lovely. Great choice to share today. π

Did you know I was married in the gazebo at the Dallas Arboretum?

Such a beatiful photo of a very special cottage!
Have a great weekend!
How quaint! I lived in a tiny cottage myself for 14 years. Although it wasn’t nearly this adorable, nor was it thatched, I miss it still.
What a quaint little cottage. WE visited the original last year and I thought I remembered it being bigger than that – and I see from the plaque that it is!
Love your choice of photos for this week! It looks so tiny… but I bet it’s very cosy to stay in.
Happy weekend Ellen!
What a cute little house! Not many rooms in there I’m sure! Thanks ellen, Happy PH!
Thanks for great photos and a little history
I would also like to visit the replica if not a real cottage sometime in my life. It’s historical and looks great.
Lovely cottage!
Hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Ellen!
That is an absolutely charming cottage! Were you allowed to go inside and looked at the furnishings, perhaps?
What a lovely setting for the replica cottage!
Thanks for sharing the shots and the story. Good stuff!
