In Between the Constant Dripping…

birds-squirrels 038… we had fun watching the birds and squirrels in our yard and we managed to prune our apple tree. The Pine Siskins were quite active and numerous at the feeder.

2015-02-07 birds-squirrelsThree squirrels, the most we’ve seen altogether in our yard decided it was easier to pick up the droppings below the feeder.

pruning 002 We braved the dripping skies and started to prune the apple tree on Saturday.

pruning 005 On Sunday we managed to get the majority of the unwanted branches removed and cut down to size for the yard waste bin with just a few stragglers that we may or may not trim. We wouldn’t have been able to get so much done without the help of Andrew and Katie who came over after church on Sunday.

So we are feeling quite accomplished here at this old house. How was your weekend?

 

Hospitality…

Even though I put the food out for the birds this furry little guy/girl gets the benefit of my hospitality…

It was so good to get out and about today and run all the errands I couldn’t run last week because of our snowy icy roads. It was sunny and dry, too.  Hope your day went well.

Feed The Birds?

I’m really not sure who is getting more of the birdseed…

I see plenty little birds coming to the feeder, also. Today I have to refill the feeder because it is empty!

Tomorrow all the Christmas boxes are coming down out of the attic again and I hope to re-organize everything while I put stuff away. How long do you keep your tree and decorations up?

Ruby Tuesday ~ Fluffy Tailed Sneak!

You should see the antics this squirrel has to pull off to get situated on our bird feeder for a nice meal.

It always makes us chuckle.

Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

Birds & Squirrels…

So if it’s Sunday night it must be time to post some Mosaics for Mosaic Monday with Mary at Little Red House and something blue for Blue Monday with Sally at Smiling Sally.

We’ve had a regular flock of these Evening Grosbeak finches at our bird feeder.

And then Mr. Bluejay visits once in a while shooing everyone else away!

And then this trapeze artist really kept me entertained!

Hope your new week is starting out nicely. I’m hoping to get around better this week as things are finally getting organized around here from our move…
