Photobucket replaced all my photos with ugly black and grey boxes and they are holding my photos hostage until I pay them lots of money. I’m slowly going through all my posts and trying to clean them up and replacing some photos. Such a bother.

Yard Art ~ Peaceful and Bazaar…

Well I just couldn’t resist posting some more yard art with Mary at Work of the Poet. Thanks Mary for hosting this…

Hope you are all having a great week and looking forward to a long weekend here in the U.S.A. We will be remembering those who have and are serving our country. God bless all who have served and are serving our country and insured our freedoms over the years!!

Yard Art ~ Merry Go Round…

Mary at Work of the Poet is our hostess for Yard Art on Thursday. I’m having lots of fun with this meme! I drove by this house on my way to the hairdresser last week. I went around the corner to get back to it and parked to take my photos.

At the back of the house and next to driveway these critters greeted me. Make sure and look up to see the Owl on top of the tree trunk! I crossed the driveway and all along the front and side of the house were different animals from a Merry-Go-Round. I’ve heard that when the ride is all horses it’s called a carousel and when there are different animals it’s called a Merry-Go-Round.

I zoomed in to see what was lurking around this wishing well…

So this was a very Merry house all the way around the property. Luckily the house is on a corner so there is only one neighbor next door and they really can’t see all the yard art from their property but all the cars driving by get a birds eye view!

Cruising to Alaska…

…I’m not but my junior high and high school buddy was leaving today out of Seattle. She and her husband and 4 friends traveled from L.A. to board their Cruise ship at Pier 91 in Elliott Bay. I picked them up when they arrived at the cruise ship and we all went to lunch before they boarded the ship for their 7 day cruise. Another beautiful day in the Pacific Northwest!

If you look closely you can see the Space Needle behind us in the distance!

It was fun to meet Nancy’s husband for the first time and her friends that have been by her side for many years.

We’re deciding where to go to church tomorrow. We still haven’t found a church home yet.  Now I’m going to go put my feet up and watch the Sounders play the Red Bulls. Hope you are enjoying your Saturday wherever you are…

Good News For Seattle’s Dendreon and Us!

https://i0.wp.com/media.cnbc.com/i/CNBC/Sections/News_And_Analysis/__Story_Inserts/graphics/_PHARMA/dendreon.jpg

Whoohoo!  The FDA has approved Provenge which was developed by the company my husband now works for. I know some of you are thinking huh? Your husband is working? We thought he was retired. Well his retirement was very short lived and yes he now has a different full-time job right here in Seattle. Good thing the FDA approved this treatment today or else Dear would have been out on the street with no job!! So the company is all a buzz. Lots of laughter and celebration going on in Downtown Seattle over this major announcement. Congratulations to Dendreon and 10 years of hanging in there over the development of Provenge and the approval process!! Congratulations to all the men with Advanced Prostate Cancer that can finally be treated with Provenge…

FDA Approves a Cellular Immunotherapy for Men with Advanced Prostate Cancer

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Provenge (sipuleucel-T), a new therapy for certain men with advanced prostate cancer that uses their own immune system to fight the disease.

Provenge is indicated for the treatment of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and is resistant to standard hormone treatment.

Prostate cancer is the second most common type of cancer among men in the United States, behind skin cancer, and usually occurs in older men. In 2009, an estimated 192,000 new cases of prostate cancer were diagnosed and about 27,000 men died from the disease, according to the National Cancer Institute.

“The availability of Provenge provides a new treatment option for men with advanced prostate cancer, who currently have limited effective therapies available,” said Karen Midthun, M.D., acting director of the FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research.

Window Views ~ Seattle Pioneer Square

This was taken at Occidental Park in downtown Seattle in Pioneer square.

To see more Window Views and Doors Too visit Mary here.

Ruby Tuesday ~ Downtown Seattle…

Welcome to Ruby Tuesday. Please visit Mary at Work of the Poet to see more Ruby from around the world.

My shot this week was taken in downtown Seattle in Pioneer Square. I thought the old neon sign advertising  75 cent rooms was fabulous and how great that the building was built with Ruby bricks, too.

Thy Word Is Like A Garden, Lord ~ Hymn

Thy Word Is Like a Garden, Lord

Thy Word is like a garden, Lord, with flowers bright and fair;
And every one who seeks may pluck a lovely cluster there.
Thy Word is like a deep, deep mine; and jewels rich and rare
Are hidden in its mighty depths for every searcher there.

Thy Word is like a starry host: a thousand rays of light
Are seen to guide the traveler and make his pathway bright.
Thy Word is like an armory, where soldiers may repair;
And find, for life’s long battle day, all needful weapons there.

O may I love Thy precious Word, may I explore the mine,
May I its fragrant flowers glean, may light upon me shine!
O may I find my armor there! Thy Word my trusty sword,
I’ll learn to fight with every foe the battle of the Lord.

Words: Edwin Holder (1837-1904)

Round Robin Photo Challenge ~ Look Up/Look Down…

Time for an all new challenge! This time around it comes to us by way of our friend Steven. “Look Up/Look Down” is scheduled for Saturday March 13th, 2010. For this one, the perspective is up to you. Link up to the Round Robin Blog to see more of “Look Up” or  for the next Photo Challenge which will be in a couple of weeks…

My first two shots are from Pleasanton, California on our roadtrip from Cali to Washington. I looked up and saw this despicable image looking down at me…

but the fact that it’s not the fairest image in the world didn’t keep me from zooming in…

Now on a more serene note…while I was at the Japanese Gardens in Seattle last Saturday I took this shot looking down…

Happy Saturday to you Robins! I’ve seen Robins in my yard this week and I have a goal to capture one in a photo…

If I don’t get to you today it’s because Dear is taking me off for a massage and overnight to celebrate my birthday which is tomorrow! I’ll see you soon…
