Triple Tuesday!

We’ve got the trifecta of celebrations happening here for this jam packed Tuesday.

There’s Fat Tuesday/Mardi Gras and Pancake Tueaday/Shrove Tuesday and this year it is also Chinese New Year/Lunar New Year!

Here is how I’m melding all these celebrations tonight.

Our dining room table is set for company we are having this evening. I pulled out the Chinese souvenirs I bought in San Francisco’s China Town back in 2016.

Our menu’s nod to the Chinese New Year will be Egg Drop Soup for our starter course.

My nod to Mardi Gras and the Fat Tuesday are my fleur de lis napkin rings.

Wanting to also fit in the Pancake Tuesday tradition, for dessert we are having ‘Russian Pancakes’ or better known as Blintzes.

I mentioned yesterday that there was talk of snow. We ended up getting a good 4 inches of snow on Monday!

It’s melting already.

These two sent me a selfie with the Vintage Valentine Day Cards I sent them.

The love continues!

The Irish Dancers that our Addy is part of are dancing tonight in town at a Mardi Gras celebration.

Are you giving a nod to any of these celebrations?

  1. I have a question. Is it too late to schedule a reservation for dinner at your home tonight? πŸ™‚ Everything looks so festive and the menu sounds delicious.

  2. A group of volunteers with MDS, Mennonite Disaster Services, will be in Elk, Washington end of the month, rebuilding a home that was destroyed by a recent forest fire. Take a drive to view the project and encourage the volunteers.

    • Hello Dorothy, we would have loved to view this project but unfortunately we will be out of the country then. God bless these volunteers! I can recommend a Mexican Restaurant in Elk for them if they will be eating any meals out, Los Tres Potrillos right on Highway 2. Thanks again for letting me know. Do you know how long the project will take?

  3. Beautiful decorations!! We painted wooden hearts on Friday night with our oldest grand – Valentine celebration-ish? We had family lunch at our house on Sunday after church – I had Mardi Gras decor plus some valentine candy! For the Young Adult Group that meets at our house tonight — Fat Tuesday – pancakes, bacon, sausage squares, biscuits and jelly. Lent begins tomorrow.

  4. Wow – you really went all out! I hope you enjoy all the celebrating!! I’m not 100 percent sure what Fat Tuesday is/entails…but I’m all about an excuse for pancakes!! Even your snow looks pretty in pictures!

  5. Lucky to have some snow! Your Lunar new year table loos so pretty and your blintzes look delicious! We are going to a friend’s to celebrate Lunar New Year at her home this weekend. I am making shrimp and andouille sausage jambalaya for dinner tonight for a Mardi Gras style Fat Tuesday.

  6. Sounds like a wonderful dinner. I love your decorations. Those Blintzes look and sound delicious. Wow on the snow. Glad it is melting. Cute picture with the Valentines. Way to go Addy!
