Oh Deer

We’ve had many visits from bucks, does and fawns lately.

A regular stag party on this evening.

This little one tried to crash the party but was called away quickly by it’s mother.

On another day there was another gathering.

Then we had several visits from the fawns and their mother.

We also had a visit from our hawk.

On to our humans!

Our Grands had a great week of Vacation Bible School.

Jamie worked hard as a leader all week! Marvel at Jesus, Live for His Glory!

The weekend ended with a birthday dinner party for our Grands Granny. Our Grands are blessed with lots of adult love.

Things are heating up around here again this week. I’ll have to resume some watering. What’s going on in your corner!

  1. Oh dear! It is wonderful to see all the deer! And especially the fawns! It is always amazing to watch the wildlife interact with each other. VBS is such a special event, and I’m glad your grandkids had such a good time. Yes, it’s gonna get hot this week. We’ve been really blessed so far! Stay cool!

  2. Those are pretty amazing photos of the deer in your garden. Sure makes you think long and hard about what’s “deer resistant” and what’s not. Glad your grands had a fun time at VBS.

    • Ann, whoever it was that planted all the plants in our planters did a good job of putting in things that the deer really don’t go after. They leave peonies and sunflowers and cone flowers and other things alone.

  3. I love the family photos. Always fun to see the kids.

I have to say I love seeing the deer. They are beautiful. Are you okay with them in the yard? Do they mess things up?

    • Debby, for the most part we are okay with them in the yard and they do eat a lot of weeds. When they come after our blooms that are fresh instead of waning we shoo them off. Once the flowers are spent we don’t mind them eating them. We can avoid their piles of poop, too, which are like tiny pebbles. TMI?

  4. A clever title you’ve given this post! What great pictures of your animal visitors!!

I’ve been too busy of late to keep up with my bloggy friends, so it’s good to be back here visiting again.

  5. Those deer pictures are really neat! Your yard looks so picturesque- the deer wanted a pretty playground- who can blame them??
