Every year, on 11 November at 11 am – the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month – we pause to remember and honor those men and women who have served our country in all branches of the military.
Thankful for all our Veterans.
My new pin to wear on Veteran’s Day from our Laura, also known as Auntie Lolo.
Here I am in 2014 with the Marine Corps Band at a Seattle Sounders Game. Wonder where all these young Marines are now and how many are Veterans already.
Hope we all get a chance to thank a Veteran today! The closest Veteran to us is our Son-in-law Andrew. Thank you Andrew for your years of service. We appreciate your sacrifice and are aware of the toll it took on your body. You are loved and appreciated.

…lovely post Ellen, I think today of our grandson, an Army medic. He will be home for Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful day.
Tom, thank you to your grandson in his important service as a medic. I’m sure your family is so thankful he’ll be home for Thanksgiving.
A wonderful post for Veterans Day! God Bless our veterans and all the soldiers.
Have a happy weekend.
Thank you for this. I am going to send a message to my nephew who is serving right now.
God Bless our Veterans.
The closest one I know is Ken. 🙂 20 years in the Navy.
Such a thoughtful post for Veterans Day. The pin that Laura gave you is beautiful. It is such a wonderful way of remembering those who have sacrificed so much for our freedoms. My grandma always wore a poppy on Veterans Day. She had two sons who fought in WWII at the same time. My one uncle was badly wounded and spent several months in a hospital overseas before coming home. His brother made it through without injury but he was killed in a car accident shortly after returning home.
Thanks to all the Veterans for keeping America safe!
Lovely post. Thank you to Andrew for his service.
