They just keep getting longer and longer here on our Country Bungalow.
Look at the downspout!
We are supposed to have several days of above freezing temperatures so our icicle artwork should melt soon. We all have to be very careful walking in parking lots and on sidewalks that are not deiced. We have to walk a short distance to our garage and we are very careful doing that, too. Everything turns into solid ice and we do not want to fall on ice. Falling on snow is softer for sure.
When snow is cleared in parking lots, etc. it ends up being piled in one section of the area. As you drive around town you’ll see mini mountains of snow in most large parking lots. Those mini mountains will take a very long time to melt.
Hope all is well where you are…
Wow, you do have some long icicles there, they look like a curtain of ice.
Have a great day!
It’s like your house needs a haircut!
Haha…love that, Sandi!
…we haven’t had enough snow for icicles to form. Stay warm and well.
Don’t shoot your eye out Ralfie be careful. You don’t want dad to buy new glasses.
Jim, Haha! I won’t be walking under any icicles!
Frigid, below zero temps and icy. That’s probably true across the northern tier. Yes, be careful!
oh my goodness – those icicles are amazing!!
They do look beautiful though despite their dangerous side. Stay safe. B x
Icicles are pretty on your home, Ellen. We still have snow and ice around as our temperatures are cold. It’s a good day to make another pot of soup!
Those are some mighty long icicles! You don’t want to walk under them. : )
Ice is sure no fun to walk or fall on!!
Ah man! Our temps reached 80F on January 11. Keep safe on all that ice, my friend!
Sooo much snow Ellen! Be careful out there! I have never seen icicles like that (and we haven’t *always* lived in Florida !) Family in Eugene and Seattle/Tacoma sent lots of pictures also. Snow isn’t super common in Eugene, but I can hardly believe we didn’t have a drop of it — and hardly any rain really — while we were there last winter. (No rain is not a good thing either, but like snow there can be too much of a good thing.).
This winter has been a doozie for sure! The snow piles will be with us long into springtime, lol! And those icicles can really be dangerous. Hopefully yours melt in the next day or two!
