One of These…

American Goldfinch.

Red Winged Blackbird

Northern Flicker

Might this be a Black Phoebe?

…is not like the others. A very common groundhog that we see on the Rotary Trail.

This past Saturday we started our walk on the Rotary Trail at 6:15 A.M. We spotted a nice variety of birds and lots of groundhogs. No eagles or hawks this week. I’ll post the rest of the photos of birds we saw soon.

On Sunday we had to add wire fencing around the Apricot tree that our kids gifted me for my birthday. We were enjoying a quiet afternoon when I spotted a deer munching on my young apricot tree. Didn’t know I could hop up that fast and get outside to shoo it away. I texted our kids and our son volunteered to bring over the materials we would need to protect the tree from the deer. In no time at all Dan and Dear put the fence up secure enough to keep the deer from nibbling.

Not the best quality photo as I zoomed in with my phone from the house.

It’s Tuesday and I’m excited to meet a new hairstylist. Hope I’m still excited after my cut!

About Ellen am a wife, mother, baba (grandmother) and a loyal friend. Jesus is my King and my hope is in my future with Him.

  1. Hello, Love all your birds, pretty photos. We have a groundhog family living in our yard, they eat everything.. Good luck with the new hair stylist. Enjoy your day!

  2. Your readers will know the answer if we don’t get to see this new cut. That’s a good solution for the apricot tree. My entire yard would be little metal cages everywhere. 😊

  3. What a lovely variety of birds! You were able to capture some good shots. While I love seeing the deer in our backyard I don’t enjoy when they start making a meal out of my trees and flowers! Good luck with your new hair stylist.

  4. Beautiful bird photos. These are birds that we do have in common. As for that undecided one, that looks like an Eastern Kingbird to me, but I’m not sure.

  5. Gorgeous birds and that “different” critter is fun too.. wonderful to get to walk trails …I always have enjoyed that, but even more grateful now. …And a haircut! … ours have reopened, but I haven’t quite gotten up the courage to make an appointment yet. So needed. ….I’m off to follow that ‘beautiful places’ link in your post above, because I am pretty sure (based on the ones you listed) that it will remind me to give thanks for the places we’ve been.” …… we were able to visit with our granddaughter and see the 15-mo old gg yesterday (at our daughter and SILs acreage) so that was definitely a grateful day.
