A Favorite:

Island. Balboa Island in Newport Beach with family. My sister Vera, me, nephew Dave, niece Kristin, son Josh and DIL Laura.

Inside: Flash from the past.

Inside the Irma Restaurant Grill in Cody, Wyoming.

Parting Inside shot of Addy in motion with oversized slippers on.

It’s always fun to have Addy inside our home.

Linking up with Tom at The Backroads Traveller for Weekend Roundup!

Friday afternoon I got the sweet chance to listen to our grandson’s heartbeat. He is due in April. Addy was in the examination room along with her daddy and of course mommy. Addy has learned to hold up two fingers to show that she is turning two years old in March. She will be two years older then her little brother. A decision on the name for our grandson is proving to be difficult. We are not worried since we didn’t choose Daniel’s name until he was born. We have a forecast of bitter cold nights until Tuesday. Time will tell if I slip on my snowshoes for a little exercise in our back acres this weekend. What’s up in your corner this weekend?

  1. Brrrr. I’m going to have to stop looking at those icicles. Somehow, they seem colder than the heaps of snow! How fun that Addy will be a big sister very very soon! April — how the time flies.

  2. …Eleen, what a wonderful mix this week. ‘I’cices to Balboa ‘I’sland, ‘I’rma’s to cutie pie skating around the ‘I’nside of the house in those slippers. Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your weekend.

  3. I like your post, Ellen. We have similarities tonight. What’s UP here isn’t my icicles, they fell DOWN onto the ground with our Adi (she died in 2013). They were from 2007 when it got down to 22°F to make some. Tomorrow will be a cold day, down in the 40’s at night, next night close to 3’2. I am guessing that you had pie at that ‘Irma Restaurant Grill’. Smallish town restaurants are generally a treat, we like to stop and see.
    Have a nice week,

BTW, I dated a girl named “Irma” for about a year before I ever got married. Also dated some another Irma who had a crush on me but not visa versa. I didn’t post about them.
    Have a nice week,

  5. Hello, you have some long icicles. Love the family photo and Addy is cute as ever! It is exciting to have a new grandson on the way! Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a happy day and weekend!

  6. A fun line-up of “I”s!

Oh, how exciting to hear your grandson’s heartbeat! That is such a special time! (We did not name our Rebekah until after she was born. We had three girl names chosen, but Ron wanted to see her before making a final decision! We were fine with that, but it drove a lot of people crazy. Even the nurses in the OR were making suggestions as they prepped me for my C-section! 😀 )

  7. I LOVE icicles! Your granddaughter’s photo made me smile–they are always on the go at that age:) It took us awhile to decide on our youngest son’s name. He kind of surprised us by being born 2 months early and being a “he” not a “she”.
    Blessings, Aimee

  8. Awesome icicle pics! We only had one dusting of snow here in Oklahoma. I kind of miss that first snow euphoria, but that’s about all the snow I want to see. The Island would have been a great place to be this summer. Congratulations on the new baby. Abby is a doll!
