For this day in between the remembrance of the crucifixion and the Resurrection of Jesus I decided to post Katie and my second walk at Magnuson Park that we took on Tuesday April 4th. I wonder what agony the followers of Jesus had during the time in-between.
Katie was hoping that we would see the blue heron her and Andrew had seen on their walks through the wetlands. We were excited to have that hope realized on this day.

I love having walks with our girl.
The lake was calm on this day and there was no rain during our walk.
You can just barely see Mt. Rainier in this photo.
Looking forward to tomorrow and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Such a great time of rejoicing.
We are having rain, rain and more rain. Here in Northeastern Washington more roads have washed away and traveling is getting more complicated for a lot of people. Everyone is looking forward to a good dry spell and for all this water to recede. We still have good access to town and everything we need.
Here is a collage of our smiley granddaughter next to her smiley daddy when he was a wee one.
Baby equipment has really come a long way since 1981!
Are you preparing for an Easter service and Easter meal at your home?
Hi Ellen, Pretty photos from your walk with Katie! So sorry you are now experiencing the rain. I love seeing Addy’s sweet smile compared to her daddy’s. I wish you a blessed Easter.
A walk with a daughter, what could be nicer.
Happy Easter, Ellen. I enjoy your posts very much…from your reflections on Holy Week…to time spent with your daughter…to that sweet smile on Addy’s face. I think she is a combination of both her mommy and daddy.
Great sightings of the birds at the park – it looks like such a pretty area!
Little Addy is filling out so well already and so like her daddy!
Or is this a green heron? Short legs? stocky? https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Green_Heron/id
Thank you. The legs are longer than they look but the wings are covering up part of the legs.
Then it is definitely a blue heron, with those beautiful blue-gray feathers. Looks like he has a good fishing-post lookout point, too! What a great opportunity to get a photo!
Hello Ellen,
Your pictures from your walk with Katie are beautiful. And I love the picture of Addy next to her daddy when he was her age. 🙂 Love that little grin on her face. 🙂
Our church has a Easter breakfast so we will begin our Resurrection Sunday enjoying the fellowship there, then it will be Sunday school and church. I’m preparing the majority of our Easter dinner today …at hubby’s request so that there isn’t a long wait once we return from church. 🙂
May you have a wonderful celebration of our precious Saviour’s resurrection!
Beautiful photos from your walk. There is much to see and enjoy in our area, even when the rain doesn’t want to stop.
We are having our dinner tonight with the family, so that they can celebrate with “the other side” tomorrow.
Easter Joy to you and yours.
Such lovely photos and memories! Happy Easter, Ellen, and to your family! 🙏❤
Lovely photos from your walk. I love to watch Robins in the water. They seem to really enjoy it.
Our church will be having an Easter Cantata put on by the choir.
…Ellen, such wonderful views of nature. Have a wonderful Easter with that little sweetie!
Actually, I have collapsed into my recliner after a day of preparation! I am tired, but it was a good day of cleaning, cooking, chatting with my girls as we worked together, and music of the season. There is SO much good music about His sacrifice and His resurrection!
You and Katie had a lovely walk. I am sorry for the folks who are having such a deluge of rain. I pray that the weather will soon calm long enough for the waters to recede.
Blessings to you as you celebrate the living Savior!
Yes, I understand that exhaustion as I prepared today in a kitchen I’m not used to for a gathering at our son and dil’s tomorrow.!
Beautiful walk with the perfect companion Ellen. Fun comparing daddy and daughter baby pictures …I wish I’d thought to do that (decades ago now)….they do look alike, but yes for sure the equipment does not.
