While in Eastern Washington last weekend we had a little driving time down Main Street in Chewelah and spotted the Chewelah Baptist Church. Linking to InSPIREd Sunday with Beth and Sally.
We had a great weekend in Eastern Washington spending time in Chewelah, Colville and Kettle Falls. Today I’m just back from a 24 hour trip to Southern California. Travel two weekends in a row has gotten the best of me. I’m looking forward to a quiet week and a stay at home weekend to come. How are things in your neck of the woods?
it looks like an arrow heading on up to heaven. neat architecture. ( :

What a busy time you’ve been having. Great spires!
Looks very modern with the windows
I love the wooden churches in America, we don’t have those in the UK. most of ours, whilst architecturally beautiful are totally unfit for purpose, the congregations are dwindling, sadly, and they cost a fortune to heat.
But we Brits are sticklers for tradition and hang on to then for posterity.
Our local church dates back to the 11th century and was originally a Priory, hence the name Childwall Priory. Some years ago ambitious church councillors decided they wanted to rip out the pews and replace them with stacking chairs…..What an uproar ensued!
It didn’t happen, so we’re left with uncomfortable cramped pews….hey ho ! What’s the expression ? ‘Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke’ !
I hope you have a well earned restful week and weekend,
Best wishes,
Di. xx
I agree with the above comment from Tom….I like to see “white churches”. Nice photos.
Whew…you have been a busy gal with all your traveling!! I know that a quiet week is looking good to you right now…rest and a time to reflect on all the good things.
I am looking forward to a quiet week too! I haven’t traveled, but I am plumb tuckered out from house projects and taming clutter.
Lovely looking wooden church!
I always love the serenity of the old simple wooden churches.
