A Trail Walk…

Almost a month ago Dear and I drove to the river trail close to us to have a very early Saturday morning walk.

At the beginning of our walk it was just us and the birds.

The mist was lying low.

It was so peaceful.

Finally it was late enough in the morning to see other humans. This was the first time I’ve seen policemen on bicycles on the trail. I was happy to see them. I hesitate to walk this trail by myself because there are so many secluded parts of the trail. When we walk this trail we do a quick one hour walk which ends up being about 3 miles or so. A good start to our Saturday morning. Hope we didn’t spoil the good of the walk with this next stop we made on the way home…

Someone did say that it’s good to have a goal for your walk to motivate you. I don’t think this is what they had in mind, though.

When our floors are done I hope to drag Dear out to the trail again on a Saturday morning. He is a willing victim when we start very early. During the week it would only work for us to walk in the evening since Dear is out the door by 4:30 A.M. on weekdays. Do you prefer to walk in the morning or the evening?

  1. Hi, enjoyed the pretty pictures. We do a lot of walking by the Willamette river. I too hate parts of it. Yes this is also on the bike path.

  2. Beautiful place to walk!! I’m afraid to admit that I’m an evening person!! Early mornings are so hard for me – I get going in the evening! I truly am a ‘wanna be’ morning person – sigh!

  3. That looks like a great place for a walk. I think I would be classified as a morning walker; when evening comes I don’t have all that much energy left! Maybe if you two split one doughnut you would have your exercise and your reward too, though maybe not as much of a reward as your stomach wants.

  4. It looks like a nice place to walk. I’m not sure I have a preference as to morning or evening. I actually prefer to walk in the morning and ‘get it over with’…but this week I went several times just before dark and really enjoyed it.

  5. A lovely place to walk. I understand about lacking the discipline to walk. I am faithful for a while, but then….life seems to get in the way. The china is special and I think God had it there just for you! Can’t wait to see your new floors!

  6. Ellen those photos were terrific!
    More! More walks and photos!
Btw… Outdoor photos look best ween taken either in the morning or evening. I like either time for walking!
