On Saturday Lana, Laura and I were able to attend a bridal shower for our nephew Caleb’s bride to be, Marie. The shower was given by her aunt and cousins. Marie has a large supportive family and it was nice to meet a lot of them.
You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day in the greater Seattle area for a shower. Marie’s side of the family hails from this area and we were happy to be able to join in the fun. Our nephew Caleb and many of our family live in Southern California. The wedding is going to take place in Southern California.
Our sweet Marie with her aunt and cousins who collaborated to host the shower.
It was fun to watch Marie open each gift.
Marie with her mom and with her great grandmother and her paternal grandmother.
Cousins on the top and Marie with both grandmother’s, her mom, and great grandmother.
We loved meeting Great Grandmother! She is a fabulous 95!
Sweet Marie! We are looking forward to seeing her walk down the aisle at the Blueberry Farm/Ranch in Southern California to be married to our nephew Caleb. Our side of the family is having a shower for Marie the later part of July in Southern California.
After the shower Lana, Laura and I headed back to our house and met up with our hubbies to head out to dinner and celebrate a belated Father’s Day meal.
Another relatively quiet week ahead for me…sigh of relief. We are narrowing down the choices for our new carpeting. We are still overwhelmed with the idea that we have to empty out the rooms that will be re-carpeted. What’s ahead for you this week?
Two wonderful families coming together to honor the bride-to-be. What a lovely group of women and someone knows how to prepare a wonderful table!
Lovely, Her family is so gret!!! I’m feeling your pain in the emptying rooms department. We are going to have a mess for weeks with this painting, partially because I’m determined to sort through things as we go. I just keep telling myself it will be great when it’s done. Which rooms are you carpeting?
Kelly, first we are putting hardwood in the family room, kitchen, hallways. Then we will continue the torture by putting in new carpeting in all the bedrooms and the living room. The family room and kitchen need some leveling done on the floors and the hallway needs a huge hump sanded down so I will have lots of dust etc. along the way. The hardest part is moving all the furniture around!
Marie truly is sweet! Looks like a lovely shower and great grandmother looks amazing! Blessings to all.
Nothing like family looking forward to a wedding …and showering the bride with love !
Can’t wait to see the wedding photos!
Ellen, I was struck by the beauty of the women. It seemed like everyone called everyone else and said…this is a special day so let’s all be pretty in dresses so we can be lovely for Ellen’s camera. Your family gatherings always make me wish I could pop in.
Beautiful! Love the food and table setting incl. the napkins. People all look wonderful of course! 😉
I love the pictures of all the pretty young girls enjoying each other. Your family sure knows how to celebrate.
Lots of fun times ahead. I always love how the grandparents and aunts all come together in gusto. You know how to celebrate your nieces and nephews up coming events with class and enthusiasm. Glad the sun shone for you. It was a perfect day.
Oh, beautiful pictures!! Love seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces. Hope to get to planning a couple of short summer getaways this week…. besides work, of course. 😉
The family pictures that you took will be a treasure for years and years. It looks like a beautiful party with beautiful food on an unnaturally sunny Seattle day! Perfection. Sounds like you are going to another California wedding–aren’t they fun?
Aw.. beautiful! Marie looks like she fits right into your great family!
Sweet Marie…is right! You couldn’t have picked a nicer time to have a shower…between showers.
