So long, Farewell…

The kids said their goodbyes to Dear as he headed off to his business meeting.

So long, farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, goodnight

Andrew, Katie and I headed to the Marriott rewards members room for happy hour. It was a very nice space with lots of comfy chairs and beautiful views. They also served up a nice buffet of hors d’oeuvres.

I hate to go and leave this pretty sight

So long, farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, adieu

Adieu, adieu
To you and you and you

So long, farewell
Au revoir, Auf Wiedersehen

We enjoyed our time together relaxing before it was time to say goodbye till the next time we meet, hopefully at Christmas and for Katie’s birthday on December 27th!

Are you tired of me saying that we are in the midst of another busy week? I’m cooking up some of our middle son’s favorites to take across the Cascades to his new home on Friday. Dear took a couple days off of work so we could put in some good time checking out Dan’s new digs and helping him with some projects while we are there. Since we’ll be busy with projects I decided to make and freeze some food so we wouldn’t have to think about what to cook. I was excited about seeing Katie and Andrew and now I’m excited about seeing our Dan and his new home. God is good to us…

  1. Love the song along with the pictures…perfect! You are smart to think ahead about food. It will make your visit so much nicer. And I know Dan will be happy to have some of Mom’s cooking!!

  2. I love the soundtrack that is playing in your mind! Just about anything from The Sound of Music makes me smile. You are, indeed, blessed to have these lovely times with your children. Safe journey across the Cascades!

  3. It sounds like you had a great visit….and saw a beautiful area of America! And…plans for more fun and interesting times this week!! It is the best to be with the kids!! 🙂

  4. How’d I miss one? Anyway, what I always love about seeing your daughter and her hubby together is the way the incline to one another. So much in love!

The good thing is that you will have another adventure soon and one right behind that and so it will go from now until forever. Love it!

  5. I like ‘good-bye’ in German. Auf Wiedersehen means ‘until we see each other again’. Good-bye is not forever!

Have fun trekking across the hills this weekend.

  6. As much as I know it’s so much nicer to not have to travel far to see kids, I’m glad you are able to do so and appreciate it. There is something about seizing the day when you have to make these trips happen.

  7. I know it was fun to spend time with your daughter and son-in-law is such pretty surroundings, Ellen. I hope there won’t be much snow where you are headed–winter comes early to those parts, doesn’t it? Drive safely and enjoy your visit with your son!
